Just got the truck back from the shop put on used pedal commander and all I can say is placebo effect worth the 150 all day. The truck in stock form was sluggish now the throttle is instant. Under normal driving it reminds me of a car with a twin screw blower. I have mine set at sport+ -2. I may change it as it is still touchy by now it's like driving it like I stole it all the time lol.

The Pedal Commander is still one of our best sellers for the RAM. It just makes such a big difference in the seat of the pants its almost a no brainer, especially considering how much lag the pedal has stock

It sure makes your truck a lot more fun to drive--IMHO

I've never been a fan of them or sport modes in vehicles; the throttle response is so artificial and then it falls so flat in the mid range.

In response to the above post, ummmm, NOT MINE...lol. Never experienced a fall flat symptom in mid or upper rpm ranges!
I have pulled my pc out for dealer visits and cannot wait to reinstall!! Last time truck was in for recalls I pulled over 2 blocks from dealer and put the pc back in.
I have mine set at sport minus 3 now, but thats coupled with a pulsar set on 8!!

There isn't a way for it not to. Some like the instant [artificial] response and more power to them (you) but it leaves the rest of the curve flat (boring), regardless of operator impressions. Not a great example but this is essentially what is happening.

On a completely untuned truck they do take out some of lag built into the pedal, but with a tune you can get it a lot closer to what I prefer which is a well adjusted cable. Once tuned I yanked mine since it was more of an annoyance than a help as you can't program your own curve into it. If you could I would've kept mine for fine tuning the pedal response. If you go drive any of the SRT vehicles their pedal is noticeably better in that regard so when I would flip back and forth I was either granny until I got used to the numb pedal again or burning rubber since I was used to the numb pedal depending on if I had been driving the Challenger more or the Ram more.

How long did you have a Pedal Commander installed in your truck?

Convert, for now.

80% of my driving is around town, some highway, the lag killed me....mine still has good power thru the RPM range, good enough for me anyway.

I LOVED Sport Mode on my 392 Charger....these trucks need a Sport mode button!

There is no lag (time) in the pedal (there is some but not effected by this device), the pedal commander is just increasing throttle signal (e.g. 10% throttle now equals 30% throttle).

If you data log the pedal position vs throttle potion the Ram's are pretty numb in the initial pedal travel. This is the case with most DBW vehicles I've owned/driven or they're the opposite and a bit on the touchy side. Most DBW systems do not connect the pedal to the throttle and instead use a "driver requested torque" algorithm to calculate what they should do. Tuning the PCM's response to the drivers input can get you back to something more approximate to normal, but nothing beats a good old cable actuated throttle.

LOL! I also love your short review! I was searching for Pedal Commander reviews before buying it, then found this thread and you exactly confirmed my thought about the placebo effect! I am not excluding it from the mods list, but I am sure that I have better place to invest 250$ first! ;)

Finally it's exactly like a cold air intake, yes it increases engine performance a bit for real, however the huge increase of the engine noise immediately causes that placebo effect where you think (and feel) like if you just gain +50 HP!
