2014 Eco Diesel, fuel pump implosion, replace along with injectors. Now exhaust is heavy and black. Any ideas why?

If I'm not mistaken, the HPFP has to timed correctly??
Are you deleted? Something has to be seriously wrong for thick black smoke to make it through the DPF. If you are tuned, you may need to have it updated to for the new injectors??

Like crash said. Excess smoke is always due to extra fuel being injected and lack of complete combustion.

I get a little bit of smoke every now and again when hammering on the pedal and going uphill, GDE confirmed it’s normal, but if you’re talking smoking like an old coal train, I have not had that issue yet

Who's doing the tuning? You may want have them check the injector code(s), that has to be correct or it may cause issues also.
If whoever is doing the tuning can't seem to get it figured out, you might want to look into: https://greendieselengineering.com/...m/GDE/Ram-1500-EcoDiesel-Hot-Tune/2_37.action
They offer the "Off-Road" tune which is a full delete but you probably should give them a call to explain the situation. They are a top notch company to deal with and have lots of R&D along with millions real world miles on those EcoDiesel tunes.

I got the mid range, 40 horse, tune, Ran great, very little if any smoke. Then the fuel pump implosion and replacement. That’s when the trouble started.
