Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

What is everyones preference in regards to direction of LEDs in these headlights?

I know there was some discussion but Im not sure everyone was on the same page (i.e. does 9 and 3 mean the LEDs are pointed to 9 and 3 or the center board is pointed 9 and 3)

Right now I have the LEDs themselves pointed at 9 and 3 (which puts the wiring aimed straight down), but I havent completed installation yet so I figured Id ask now to maybe save some work down the road.

FWIW I have Katana low beams and Hikari (non-ultra) high beams.
From my tests you'll want the plug at the 12 o'clock on the Katanas (which is ALSO LEDs at 9 & 3 o'clock). In other words the cable will be on the top.

Same for Hikari Ultras.

It doesn't matter for regular Hikari LEDs, they have the same thickness no matter which way they are oriented. So the cable can be at 6 or 12 o'clock (and the LEDs will still be at 9 & 3).

I'll reach out to them. The Amazon set up was such that you had to order specifically for projector so I, possibly erroneously, assumed projector specific harnesses were already included. But see better safe than sorry.

I was hoping to lean on your experience for assistance with the lower drls/ switchback but guessing not more than another wire or two... I hope :)

It may be a new ordering process. They weren't offering the projector adapter when I ordered mine.

If you are going to retro fit them the switchbacks have 3 wires, black (ground) white(white drl) orange/red ( turn signal) just take the white and tie into the drl wire in the headlights. Then you may have to find the dedicated drl feed on the adapter harness and tap into that. But I can walk you through it when you have everything in hand

I like the look of the AlphaRex Pro-series, I may buy a pair since its Prime day..
But I hate that amber corner lens,
Has anyone seen a smoked replacement for it yet?
or any chance its the same lens as the 2019 2500 headlights?
Were the AlphaRex/Modiftstreet Pro series on sale for prime day? I searched all kinds of Ram terms and never saw them.

So, i have a giant box filled with brand new Morimoto/TRS parts in my shop, mostly parts unused from personal builds or the parts from warranty claims I never had to send back (shrouds with defects in chrome finish, etc). So all working good stuff but for one reason or another ended up in this box because when it comes to customer builds I always order new parts, I have a rule to never use stuff I have laying around. Annnnyways, I knew I had a brand new unopened H11 relay harness in the box so I pulled it out and the plug for the “oem connection” was a 9006 male plug so my H7 HID kit came with a 9006F->H7M adapter plug that was ironically in this box of stuff because i didn’t need it on my HID kit. Anyways, long story short I combined the H7 adapter to the relay harness and saved myself $30 + shipping on a new relay harness from TRS and now I can install it today instead of waiting til next week when it would have gotten here.

Today has started out pretty good!

I just installed a pair of the 2019 style Friday night. They look amazing, but when I went through the car wash yesterday I noticed condensation in them. I have an email out to the company and am awaiting a response.

I can say that they have been great. I lost a dust cap about 2-3 weeks ago. Got ahold of them on fb messenger. Gave them my order number and 3 day's later had a new cap. Granted that's a little different than replacing the whole assembly but I bet after they had you double check a few things would send out replacements no problem

Same here....I have not needed parts, but they have been VERY responsive from their Facebook page. Even had a guy call me to talk about my light-to-fender gap issue, they gave me a few suggestions and things to check.

I purchased mine in February V1, i noticed my driver side light cutoff fell a bit(was noticeably lower than the passenger side), when i had a chance to look at it, looked like the adjustment screw had broken off of the headlight housing just randomly, i contacted them on Saturday morning 7-6-19 and they called me later on that day and i had a replacement headlamp by Thursday 7-11-19 in my hand. i was shocked that they contacted me on a holiday weekend which i give them major props for because i wasn't even working lol

I sent an email through their website. FYI

contact them and let them know whats happening

I finally got my second light installed. Also went back and re-formed the first one a bit.

Also added Tesa tape across the seams so the tabs are pressing on the tape and not directly on the fender or front bumper upper valance.

Hopefully they adjust OK because I modified them so I dont know how willing they would be to swap them :)

They do look spectacular, though....already had a few compliments on them.

A great example of why the V2s should be made in the original color configurations.

Yep, I plan on taking better pics and video and sending them to AlphaRex.

They said chrome is their worst seller so they didnt consider making them in V2 form, but surely I am not the only one out there with a light colored Big Horn that doesnt want their smoked/black headlights to stick out like a sore thumb!

I am glad I went with modding the V1 because I was able to get the exact look I wanted. Im still amazed how good the 5th gen headlights look on a 4th gen truck. To me that just shows how good the 4th gen design is/was.

I think they look BETTER in our trucks than some of the 5th gens that look like they're squinting...

Maybe they should make them and just raise the price for chrome?

Well, I've been lurking long enough. hopefully, I can help some of those with factory LED/projectors with questions. and some who are looking to modify their units. Hoping to get a bit of insight from those that have upgraded the V1's with better DRL's/turns.

So I bought V1 black modify street dual projectors. I have a white 2014 Laramie. Planning on pulling apart and painting the bezel, as well as upgrading the LEDs.

Overall I love the headlights, I would have bought the V2's if they had white LED housings. But I am now wishing the DRL's/turns were brighter. And primarily that the turn also illuminated white for dual DRL function. I have also been watching 1500ram12's write up on his modded V1's. Awesome job by the way. You and Jimmy07. I realize that video's don't always do justice. In my case, they make the lights appear brighter than they are. From the pictures in your build thread, it appears your LED's came from the sun. How much brighter are they than right out of the box? Here is what I'm thinking... maybe you can give me the confirmation I'm looking for, or show me a better way.

for the thinner top section (the current DRL) (I know these are switchback, but I can't find any that are just solid white single function on the website?

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/w...profile-pivot-switchback.html?preselect=50071

for the Turn Signal - (Thinking about doubling the order and installing 2 strips in each side depending on how much output I get from one, and how evenly the cover appears to be illuminated)

Also, anyone with experience in the RGB LED strips, I'm looking at RGB strips for my tail lights. I have the C style that is white with a clear lens and black backing. At night they look great, but during any sunlight, the red doesn't show through too well, also they have an LED panel inside and the C itself is used for parking light only. I wanted to wire a RGB strip in them to have a brighter red illumination, as well as using GB to make amber or yellow turn function, and use the LED panel for brakes only. Do I have to use a controller for this, or can I simply wire the red to the parking light wire, and GB to the turn and crack open a beer?

Not sure if I missed it but I couldn’t find anything, what all did you have to do as far as wiring to get them to work with your factory projector harness?

Tell Modifystreet that you have projectors and they send you the conversion harness free
