Ok....?

Pull the dip stick after you get the full operating temperature.

Any bubbles on the dip stick?

Even if you can’t see them on the dipstick being overfull almost by 1 quart COULD cause foaming.

Air bubbles in oil is BAD. Just keep an eye out sir. Let us know how it responds to “over full”

Yesterday I pulled one plug from cylinder number four and it is definitely a Bosch iridium plug that is in there. Because it’s an iridium, tomorrow i’m just going to pull all 16 plugs and clean them LIGHTLY with a brass wire brush. Then check the gap, apply anti-seize and reinstall.

Probably going to replace them in another 20,000. No way in hell can I wait close to 100,000 miles. So they will have 50,000 on them when I replace.

50k actually sounds right for a Platinum plug. I think the NGK platinum's in my 6.4 are only rated for like 48 or something along those lines per NGK, but 100k according to FCA. Doubling up on plugs doesn't mean you get to double their rated service life lol.

My plug says bosch iridium right on it.

I bet that is why my manual says 100,000

Iridium is supposed to go the longest out of all 3

This is the plug in mine

Some corrective info update, the hths is a lower temp test then noack. But the mechical shearing is the value of the test that is still above cSt. This just gives more value to noack as part of the triangle as well. Together both viscosity tests will tell you the quality of the base oil.

I brain farted there hard lol. Either way 100k is too long for a plug

So you are saying your iridium plug is supposedly good for 48,000 miles?

Is there literature on this that you read?

No no. The 5.7's iridiums call for 100k just like yours. Its the NGK platinums in the SRT that are a shorter life plug per NGK. Since the website update they don't like plug life anymore on the product page, but I distictly remember it being less than 100k by alot.

The SRT calls for LZTR6AP11EG as the OE plug.

Well a win for us 6.4 guys.

I’ve never really looked in a sense to how easy it’s going to be to get the spark plugs out. Lucky us we’re not gonna have to take a single thing off there’s nothing in the way on either side.[emoji16]

That’s a thing of beauty, that plug looks to be in good shape. I’ll be doing mine at 50k also.

anyone use ameri gas propane refills? The tank was much lighter then when I get it filled, but they took an out of date tank in return.

I used blue rhino, similar deal. As time has gone by they have gone the way of everything else: same cost, less in return.

Used to be $20 for 20 lbs. Now it's still $20 but we're getting 17 lbs or maybe even less.

Changed to a natural gas grill last year.

looking into rebuilding brake pistons, new ones are only like 12 bucks, but I bet all I need is to take it off and clean it. I bought a new caliper, but I will mess around with old one for next time. You can save 60 bucks over a new caliper.

Cheapest I found was Rockauto. Came out just under $100 +/- $6 a plug. Don't forget your coupon code lol

The only thing I had to remove on mine was the 'cover-thingy' and the air 'tube.' That's exactly how mine was... Maybe it's a 2500 thing?

That is very nice indeed! Only problem I see with it is your knee's catching hell when you got to climb up in there. I went from the hard plastic tailgate cover recently to carpet and its so much easier on the knees!

Amen to that...I run a BedRug mat on the tailgate and the bed in my Reb and they're heaven on earth! Now I don't use my rig as a dump truck very often (that'll change when we start building the barndominium on our new acreage), but I wouldn't change a thing...the BedRug is easy on the bones and keeps things from rattling around back there.
