Key fob Range Issue

Anyone else have issues with the range of the key fob drastically decreasing? I went to check my truck was locked by pressing the key fob like I do every night and no horn. Opened the door to the garage and still nothing. Opened the garage door and still nothing. Walked up to it and I now have to be standing right next to the drivers door for it to lock or unlock. Grabbed the spare key and same issue. Replaced both batteries and still the same issue. Yesterday I remote started it from across a parking lot, now today this. Its a 2016 1500 Bighorn.

It works.

Hold the metal key part of your key fobagainst your chin, then push theunlock button. The trick turns your head into an antenna, says Tim Pozar, a Silicon Valley radio engineer. Mr. Pozar explains, “You are capacitively coupling the fob to your head. With allthe fluids in your head it ends up being a nice conductor.Feb 18, 2009

While the chin trick does Work , there is no reason You should be having the issue you are having.

Once the tumors starts forming in your brain, the range also drops with the chin trick.

I ended up buying a spectrum analyzer. Locked it into 432-434mHz range (keyfob uses 433). I was able to track down a neighbors wireless rain sensor stuck in transmit mode. Issue was limited to my driveway. Anywhere else range was perfect.

I decided to do what any good Christian would. You can not imagine how difficult it is to hold a half gallon of moo juice and polish the one-eyed gopher when your doin' seventy-five in an eighteen-wheeler.
