Leftovers are awesome deals. Bought my 2017 1500 Limited for $16k under sticker of $61k. Yes, $45k is a **** ton for a 1500, but it has everything, including air ride. It's nicer than the 300 I traded in.

Nah man... Our RRP in Australia in a 2018 Laramie is $109K. That's a **** tonne!

I don't really want to know if I got a a bad deal, but i'll share some details with my fellow forum members anyway...

yesterday I bought a 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman Crew Cab 4x4 w/ Cummins and 6-spd auto, carpet, and offroad package, brake controller, 5th wheel and gooseneck attachment points in the bed for $45,250, I also got free oil changes for life and 100,000 mi bumper-to-bumper warranty. I was tempted to wait for the new 2020 Silverado 2500, but it was just too good of a deal to pass up. This thing is a beast!

I bought a leftover 18 2500.
It was THE best bang for the buck.
Definitely didn't get a "deal" though.
Sticker minus factory rebates/coupons and that was it.

You know, guys always brag about the deal they got.

Price is only one factor in the equation.

What you actually paid is the sum total of all the payments you will make, plus how ever much equity you had in the vehicle you traded in.

And for the guys that are getting killer deals on a truck that sat out in the weather for a year, as soon as you leave the lot, it's taking an even bigger hit on resale value, than a fresh truck that just hit the lot.

It's pretty tough, to out smart someone who makes deals for a living, all day every day.

If you really want a laugh, Try turning down the deal they offer you for the truck you want, In my case they told me that NO ONE was gonna give me that truck for that price...NO ONE!!
Leave the dealership, go one town over to another dealer and get the deal you want on that exact same truck and get the dealer to do a dealer trade with the first dealer that turned you down.

When you're all done and have the truck you wanted, Swing by the dealer that turned down your offer in the truck that they could have sold you and park in front of the showroom window and go buy something from the parts dept.

The salesman in my case recognized me and the truck and asked me about it when I was leaving.....I told him what I paid and showed him my sales invoice and then completely enjoyed the look that showed up on his face.

don't even let msrp come into the deal. even after 13000 off they are still making profit.you are really paying what the price for the truck should have been to start with .they just mark the damn things up so much they just make you think you got a deal.just get what you want and try to get out within 3000 of trade in value of the new truck after you drive off the lot and thats a fair deal.

I did that, but that was the floor manager not working with salesperson and you, and they were still scouting out what finance or rate or payment or vehicle you wanted.

Salesperson shoulda walked to his gm and lit the floor manager ass up over it

Since I am not picky about the engine or trim packages, I have been doing research on the 2018 Ram 2500's.
I think the only way to really tell how much of a "deal" I am getting is by basing the price off the discount % of the MSRP.
I hope to be back in America in September, get pre approved for my financing and shop around about 8 different dealerships in a 200 mile radius of my Home.
If anyone can throw me some advice i would appreciate it.
My initial offer on a vehicle is going to also factor in the fact that these trucks have been sitting on Lots for almost 2 years now, so they have depreciated in value on average of about 28-31% for trade in value.
Also, when it comes to the Cummins Diesel, just about every Dealership has at least 2 or 3 sitting on their lot because they aren't that popular compared to the 6.7 Hemi in the Pacific Northwest.
Anyone that can share some Ram buying tips I would appreciate it, also, sorry for hijacking this Thread

My deal definitely wasn’t smokin’ hot. My uncle got the same truck in OKC a week later for $39,500. That made me a little bit sad.

If you can't make the salesman cry, you haven;t gone low enough . Always start wayyy under that price and come up slowly :) You have to be prepared to walk away too.
