I’m sorry to post this here but I think you all are some of the most knowledgeable. What is this plug for? It is located on the driver side rear frame rail.

That's for the rear Park Sense sensors

That’s the first thing I thought it was...right after posting. [emoji57]. Do you happen to know where the factory bed lighting plug (if equipped ) is?

Cbrengman....from your signature looks like you have a 2014 1500? Then you do not have the factory bed light wiring (unless of course it came with that option from the factory ). The bed light wire harness is present in ONLY 2500/3500 Rams 2016 and newer even if it does not have the factory option. If you do have a 2016+ HD model, or your Ram came with the factory option, the wiring is located under the bed in the rear corner of each side. I posted a pic of mine (with the led installed and connected) for the drivers side. The wire on the left in the photo is the factory bed light harness and it ends at the white clip you see in the middle of the pic. That white clip pins the harness to the bed frame. The wire coming down on the right is the led pigtail that connects to the harness.

I've seen it in 2016 and up 1500s.

If it came with the option from the factory. If it did not come with the option and its a 1500 and has the wiring in place then you have found the FIRST 1500 with the wiring in place that did not have the option. There are numerous threads on this board and others with the same info that I posted. It also may have been added after, there is an OEM kit that has a wiring harness.
