I purchased a 2003 Quad Cab that was lowered two owners before me. I'm not sure how much or by what method. Does anyone have thoughts about how I might go about figuring it out? I've never owned a pre-lowered vehicle before, I've always done my own.

Rear- flip kit(most likely) or lowering leafs

Front- springs, spindals or control arms.

How to go about figuring it out- get under the truck.

Thanks. A quick inspection tells me the rear is indeed a flip kit. Inspecting front is a little tougher at present, but will look soon! It looks like the rear flip tends to be a 6" drop. Is there anyplace that anyone knows of that would give me stock measurements from the ground to wheel well? Thanks for the help.

It could have lift shackles on it to raise the rear to a 4-4.5” drop. The front you’ll have to take the wheel off to really get a good look of the suspension

Is the rear frame notched?

It's not, and it occasionally band on the bump stops if i don't see a bump coming. Bump stops have been cut in half.

If you are going to keep it lowered I would recommend in notching the frame. It will restore you ride quality. Then use timbren bumps both front and rear. Do you still have the oem steel bump cups in the front?

I'm not sure about the front. I haven't gotten into the front suspension yet. Are the timbren bumps a brand name or a material? Thanks a lot by the way. I'll look at some notch kits.

Timbren is a brand of rubber springs. They are passive, with given ratings. You will have to purchase them from a dealer and tell them specifically what you want. There is no kit available for our lowered trucks and I picked these individual components through trial and error. You will need two each. A155-65 300-600lbs for the rear. And A140-65 500-900lbs (front). Knock the steel cups off the front and bolt the A140-65 inplace of them. The A155-65 bolt into the rear like a standard bump stop. Using these as bump stops is easy and the single best mod you can make to improve your ride..
