Seems like a faulty line pressure solenoid. There was a recall on that if I am not mistaken. Hopefully it did not burn up your overdrives.

How would a transmission cooler become inoperable? I understand contaminated with debris. Maybe just a poor choice of words.

Not sure if it's the same on the 6spd trucks but the 8spd transmission cooler is the top couple rows of the same assembly as the AC condenser. It's just a coil, wonder why the dealer can flush it out.

FYI the dealership near me gets 115.00/hr. Took truck in for estimate on transmission charged me 2 hrs on transmission never dropped the pan. gave me the codes and said the atf had debris in it. I pulled a sample looked at it at 300 power nothing I could see smells and looks new. They also charged me a hr for a gas cap code they read when they pulled the trans codes. I DO NOT think they want my business.

Ask @RamCares to help you out with that. They are the Ram representative on this site.

OK The other half dropped trans pan today. He said it was just the normal debris in the pan and on magnet. The magnet had a layer of debris about .010 thick and nothing of any size. I changed both filters, pressure sending unit, and replaced 11 quarts of ATF. Test drove and the same result drives good get 1 hard shift and it is back in limp. With no debris in the pan that confirms my overdrive clutch pack is good. Is that correct? Can I assume that the problem is in the shift solenoid or value body? If so is there a after market brand that is better than OEM? Should I just rebuild this valve body and replace the shift solenoid?
