I rate the experience of going to a dealership and buying a car/truck to contracting **** cancer. It's the absolute worst thing to do.

My RAM 2500 Cummins was in the shop A LOT when I had it but I must admit that the dealer (service writer) bent over backwards to help me out. Just wish RAM would make a truck without constant issues.

I have experienced the same thing. If the only good answer is a 10, what good does the survey do? It can't be used to gather good customer feedback upon which they could strive to improve. If they make the employees pay a price if they do not get a 10, it shows VERY dim minds on behalf of those creating the survey method.

Same at my dealer in Wisconsin. Give them an honest score below 10 and you will get a phone call to explain.

I've had the same experience. Unfortunately it means these survey results are useless. If they want a score of 9 or 10, do 9 or 10 work!

I got a text from the service manager asking to fill out the survey after the linkage recall "fix", told him I never got one and never heard from him again....

I have had positive experiences at dealerships ruined by pressure tactics to get me to "give me a 10".

If FCA or any Dealer is reading this thread, take this to heart;
the drive to get a "10" is actually hurting your business.

There are many who would love to honestly rate our experience at your place of business and with honest feedback you can see where you have opportunity to get even better. But many, like me, refuse to "give a 10" because quite frankly you haven't earned a "10". Therefore, I will in all likelihood refuse to waste my time and yours by filling out the survey.

I hear it all the time "if you can't give me a 10 let me know so I can fix it".
Well I am letting you know … Fix it by treating me like a "10".

RATINGS ARE EARNED NOT GIVEN AWAY.

Goodnight I am starting to sound like a Grumpy Old Man.....

I worked at a dealership, at the end of the year for every new/used car you sold for entire year you get a bonus for each one. 14 years ago GM was $75.00 a car, this adds up if you sold 100-200. If you do not get all perfect scores from all of your customers you don't get paid for any-OUCH That's why they try so hard.

I have had pretty good luck with three dealerships and kind of a crappy deal with one. the one was because the salesman was trying to force a sale I was not interested in. to be honest it takes a lot of horse crap for me to put in a negative comment. I have done my share of retail and services with dealing with customers. Now I work for a fleet as a trailer mechanic. I have no problem with giving a positive review even if everything didn't goes as I had wished. If the service down right sucked, I just go somewhere else the next time. To answer your question all the dealerships here do the same and they won't leave you alone until you fill out the survey. I am guessing car companies are using the surveys to judge if they should maintain a relationship with a dealer or cut ties and move on.

Look at these surveys like leaving tips for waiters/waitresses.

Tipping is optional, but I always do it. The amount I give is a direct reflection on the service provided. Above and beyond? I will give above the standard average (which seems to be 18%). Below average performance? Below 18%.

Now, in relation to the surveys....dealers make them sound like 0-9 is worth nothing, 10 is worth 10. It is very possible to do average, above average and below average work. If you beg me to fill out a survey, do not be surprised if I rate your work accordingly. If you really don't want an honest opinion, then don't ask me for one.

99% of the time I DO NOT do surveys. The delete key or shredder does wonders. I did (1) survey on local dealership because the SA was a lil deficient in the brain category and left me sitting for almost 2 hours beyond appointment time, till I looked and saw truck not moved, thought WTF, then went at it. He got a bad review, and I got multiple calls from dealership asking how can they help, etc, etc.., of course that's why I also have an answering machine, LMAO.

.

Ditto !!! and then if you repeatedly remind me that "Remember my goal is a 20% tip and if you leave less than 20% it is just like no tip at all" Well then, I guess no tip it is. Unless of course you knock it out of the park with your service.

Really, what’s the point of a survey if it’s not honest?
A 10 means there’s no room for improvement.
If the goal is to improve customer service and customer retention, isn’t an honest review more important than a phony one? My service experience at my local dealer was the worst I’ve ever had. I was screamed at for 15 minutes. How are they building a business with this kind of approach?

it was at Rockland CJD.
My first offense was to catch them padding the bill with made up broken parts. They claimed that I had a severely damaged bushing. I told them that I needed to see it. With two mechanics and the service manager, we confirmed that there was nothing wrong.
My second offense was to object when a warranty repair was done badly and I was sent to deal with the outside vendor. A body shop. The dealer service department wanted no part of the re-do, wouldn’t offer a loaner as they had done for the initial repair.
When my EcoDiesel required a re-flash to qualify for the class action suit, they took almost a month to report the service.
My final offense was to call the service manager and leave a message requesting he call me back. They’re famous for not returning calls.
I’ve worked in customer service. It would have taken ten seconds to say “got it done, sorry it took so long”. Customer continues to spend money at your establishment. Now, I’m never going back. Nicely done, Bill.

Yikes, sounds like you gave them more than enough chances. Thanks for letting us know which dealer it was, and to steer clear of!

Never filled out my survey's emailed to me. Bought the truck in April 2019. 35miles on it when bought. Smoked on start up till lately it has stopped at 3200miles on it now. Lost a quart up to now. But now has a right hand pull. Long story short. When I was having the smoke issue. Dealer admitted there was bulletins on 5.7 and 6.4 that this was common but they definitely didn't disclose that when I was purchasing....... F minus grade from me. I did force my opinion through emails and phone calls to Dealer but never got anywhere because they have there sale. I'm in a contract with the bank on loan for the so they could give a fluck about it. "Dealer, well bring it in for we can look at it, it under warranty " yeah so you can slam my hood, scratch my fenders, dart in my seat and eat your boogers while thinking about your next duker
