At Walmart they have good deals on 5qt
The 1qt is more expensive per qt. Can I just put 5qt container in instead of having to buy another qt?

or if its that good a buy buy 2 5 quarts and you'll have some spare oil or towards next change. never a good idea to short the fill capacity to save a buck!

And the filter eats up another 1/2 qt. Have to change that as well.

I buy 2 5 quart containers and keep the spare 4 quarts in my tool box for future oil changes and topping off oil.

Running an engine 1 quart low is still in a safe zone but it's preferable to run a full crankcase I run Havoline pro ds 6 quart box and buy a extra or an extra quart of oil.

Short answer, yes, and although it's a quart low, it won't hurt your engine. But I would change the oil more often as there is less to lubricate. I ran my wife's minivan a quart low for years until one day I looked at the specs and saw the specs said it had a 6 quart oil capacity. It now has almost 240,000 miles and runs like new.

I'm one of those that run every fluid to full, coolant, transmission fluid and engine oil so no way would I recommend deliberately under filling any of them.

A quart low won't kill your engine but is always a good idea to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

For real what the ****??
It's a good question, what difference does it really make if the oil isn't topped all the way off besides filling another qt from a 5qt container may make you overfill which is even worse. Most oil change shops only charge for 5qt.

Guess I'll add in another qt from the 5qt container and probably overfill lol.

Hahahahaha whatever makes you feel better man. Last thing that 4.7 needs is insufficient amount of oil, I could give a **** less ain’t my truck.

Maybe beacuse people who get paid way more and are way smarter than you figured out that that was how the engine was supposed to be run....just sayin'...

Most of those larger containers have graduations on the side (like below)....you mean to tell me you aren't smart enough to pour another quart out without dumping the whole thing in LMAO?
