I have 2014 RAM 1500 SLT with plain black mirrors. I got some "limited" chrome cap power folding (non tow) mirrors from offer up that I dechromed (color matched). Got the correct door modules via Benny at AllMoparParts 68225102ac + 68225103ac. Got a driver door master switch from eBay part number 068110867AB.

First question- Do I have to use the brackets? The guy I got the power folding mirrors from also gave me some support brackets. They appear to go inside the door panel, but when I took my door panels off there's only holes where I think there should be some nutserts? And I don't have the hardware (screws) either. I've installed the mirrors without the support brackets for now. Should I mess with getting the hardware?

Second question- After installing everything, not all functions are working :( The front windows won't roll up/down, the mirrors won't power fold, the mirror glass won't adjust. If I put my original driver door master switch back in, the windows will roll up/down and mirror glass will adjust.

I don't know if AlfaOBD programming is needed to make the mirrors power fold, glass adjust, and windows up/down? Or do I have the wrong or possibly a defective driver door master switch?

68110867AB is the driver door master switch that I got on eBay (says for 2015)- https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=223464125546&view=all&tid=2251404032012

And according to the following link 68110867AB (68298867AA) should work for Ram 1500 2013/14/15 - https://www.factorychryslerparts.co...oor-Left--Left-Front/11272725/68298867AA.html

And if I got to this link, it seems the same part should work for all years 2013-17 - https://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/DC/119830-05697439.html

I can also verify that the master switch (without power fold button) that is original to my truck has EXACTLY matching connector pins as the eBay 68110867AB (with power fold button).

Third question- The LED turn signals also don't work, but I have not programmed them with AlfaOBD yet. Will all the other functions (front windows/mirror folding/mirror glass adjust) start working after programming the turn signals? Or is there other programming? And what exactly is Approach Lights? Do I have that?

Code:
Mirrors Interior Rear View and Exterior: (signal, puddle, dim)
Vehicle Configuration 3: Interior EC Mirror Present (Rear view mirror)
Doors: Mirror Turn Signal Present
Select “yes”
Doors: Electro-chromatic driver mirror present
Select “yes”
Doors: Electro-chromatic passenger mirror present
Select “yes”
Doors: Mirror Approach Lights Present
Select “yes”

Thanks for any help.

I put the the power fold on mine,2015.I got code added at dealership for puddle lights and turn signals,The power fold was activated by someone on this site with AlfaOBD as dealership can't activate this.Everything worked perfect, never had problems your experiencing. Before I had wrong year power fold mirrors on,maybe off a 2012-2013 and they would fold but to fold back it would pause for maybe 30 seconds before working plus they didn't have auto dim.Now everything works since proper year mirror was installed.Maybe you have wrong year master switch or something. You could try someone local master switch as it only takes a minute to swap out.Plus the bracket I believe no need unless there tow mirrors.

Thanks, while I'm researching the wrong door switch avenue, I wonder what the "power fold" alfaOBD programming is? Because it's not in the "known working" list. The chrome cap power folding mirrors came from a 2016 ram 2500 Limited.

If the mirrors came from a 2500 that bracket was for the tow mirrors, could be a stock part for 2500 as most of them have tow mirrors. There's a guy on here called Ricks ram, lives up around Sacramento. He's a genius when it comes to AlfaOBD and it was him who sorted out mine,I drove 80+ miles up to him and back.Sorted out my truck and he also activated the auto dim for me.Told me to change my interior mirror to auto dim one as this is needed to activate it on drivers mirror.

tzr....those brackets are for the tow mirrors because tow mirrors are larger and heavier. So the factory adds them for additional support when building a vehicle that has tow mirrors. Rams with non-tow mirrors do not come with them so yes you do not need them for regular mirrors UNLESS you have a bad case of OCD like me. I installed them when I put in my Laramie chrome capped mirrors. And yes those holes in the door are for rivnuts or nutserts which ever you want to call them

Thanks. Not too worried about the brackets, I'll just leave them off unless the nutsert hardware is easy to get.

Looks like in addition to turn signal settings, there is also a power fold option in AlfaOBD. I'll play with those tomorrow. Wonder if that will resolve the front windows not rolling up/down, or the mirror glass not adjusting...

First did your new door switch have one or two plug ins? My 2015 had 2 and you need both. After installing everything and before I did the Alfa mod I disconnected my battery for a system reboot then did my programming. Yes you have to tell it the you have power folding mirrors under change my vehicle configuration. scroll down to door-mirror--power fold then say yes. After everything was done my drivers window would not auto raise, but if you manually cal it by holding the button up until the window stops plus 2 seconds it resets the auto setting. Same for down if it isn't working.

Yes two plugs on original switch, same exactly on the new switch. Interesting about the windows, didn't know that.

You definitely want the rivnuts for long term support. They have more wind drag and weigh more than the normal mirrors. They're cheap and easy to get either going with the mopar parts or like others of us have done and use generic rivnuts and bolts that fit. You can pick up a rivnut tool at harbor freight on the cheap that even comes with some rivnuts. If you go generic 1/4-20 works perfectly fine and then I added some large fender washers with blue threadlocker when I installed the bolts.

OE Parts 6 of each:
rivnuts (6507161AA) bolts ( 6508709AA)

Harbor Fright option :
https://www.harborfreight.com/45-piece-threaded-insert-riveter-kit-1210.html
1/4-20 bolts of your choice.

I learned the window trick on this forum somewhere sure helped.

All is well :D

Before I put the new door switch back in, I took a peek at the pins on the two connectors. One of the pins was bent! After some tiny surgery getting the pin un-bent, the front windows started working. Took less than 5 Minutes of AlfaOBD programming to get power folding + turn signals added and working. Mirror glass is also adjusting now too! So it appears the eBay door switch I got is indeed the right one for my setup.

Can anyone tell me exactly what are the "mirror approach lights" and "puddle lamp" settings for? Do Ram 2500 limited chrome cap mirrors have either/both?

I’m hoping someone is still on here. I’m trying to put power fold mirrors on my truck. A 2016 Express. I bought the door modules but i’m confused and don’t know what to do.

The factory window switch only has 1 connector and none of the power fold ones pins seems to match up at all with my current plug. Also what is the second PIN connection used for on the power fold modules? I’m stuck. I can’t seem to find a power fold module that matches my current pins. Any help would be appreciated!
