Shed a nostalgic tear today as I parted with my stack of original factory chrome rims and the tires currently on them. At least 3 of them were on the truck when I purchased it in May of 2001. This is a photo from 2006. Tires at the time were General A/T's, one of probably a half dozen sets of tires that were mounted on them. A couple of original rims didn't survive rock strikes and loose lugnuts, but away the survivors went. :bawl:

installed my new sway bar bushings and links front and back, new coil springs, driver side speed / abs sensor (was missing since I bought it) and new brakes for the front.

Also installed those LED headlight bulbs some time ago, definitely brighter at night.

Abs and brake light still on, thinking something with the rear diff, seeing as how I went from a disc rear end to a drum rear end some time ago. (and the connectors are different! so not hooked up to the electronics!)

Last weekend I pulled the driver front wheel and torqued the castle nut because apparently I didn't before. I noticed a slight clunking noise I heard is now gone and the rubbing seems to be gone. I'll be doing the same to the passenger side this weekend because I'm an idiot... :/

Today I ordered a new grill for my truck because... Dodge is gonna Dodge...

Slapped the new grill on the truck and had my suspicions re-enforced a little more. This truck's been in a wreck, nothing effecting the frame but enough that little things are broken. Things that don't break by themselves or over time.

Haven't updated lately. Did the hub conversion. Because EMS doesn't sell a whole lot of them they ship from the manufacturer. Manufacturer happens to be Yukon! But i got the kit from Yukon and it was missing the 2 outer snaprings that retain the locking switch in the housing. Annoying as it was a Saturday when i found out but on Monday i called EMS and i had them by Tuesday afternoon. Pretty happy with the kit though!

Didn't take many pics because it was a heat index of 115 and i was in the garage without much airflow. So im sorry but be happy with what i did get lol

So today I learned that our trucks have a Governor Screen in the valve body..... I wish I knew this last spring when I replaced the Transducer and the Sensor. The old ones were clogged with metal shavings.... So I'm willing to bet the Governor Screen is too. Now, my question is does anyone here know where exactly the Governor Screen is? Is it in the hole that the governor transducer goes into? I mean it makes sense but it'd be nice to know for sure before dropping this pan again.

Edit: Apparently 96 and newer don't have them?

It's inside the solenoid

I take it you mean this screen?
https://i.imgur.com/JkBZNqY.jpg

After looking at my truck's valve body diagram I realized it didn't have the screen that Rockauto claims it does.

So now it's back to the drawing board. :/

It could be a bad sensor. I've heard that Autex makes trash for our transmissions at the time that I ordered these I didn't know that.

https://www.amazon.com/AUTEX-A500-A518-42RE-44RE/dp/B01KZGPU5I/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

This replaced the failing factory parts.

Edit2:

Oof... so I saw another thread on these forums where he said his wouldn't start in 1st gear but his wouldn't go into 3rd.

At some point he asked if the O2 sensor could cause transmission problems, etc etc etc...

I think I may know what my problem is and I think it's my fault. SO needless to say I'm going to unplug my O2 sensor and see if it fixes the issue.. >.>

The reason why I say this is because I've noticed lately that my engine surges and I'm willing to bet it's the O2 sensor. At one point I ordered an O2 sensor and the company sent me one with a short cable so I extended it. I know it was a bad idea but it was supposed to be temporary and I completely forgot that I did it until now.

Edit3:

I just realized that my rear O2 sensor still hasn't tripped a check engine light.... It should... My cat is... Well it's on vacation ATM.. I think I may know where my issue is...

Got new tires on the truck Friday morning. Then after my wife got home from work we hit the road with our son to Carlisle Pa to the Chrysler National's. Was a great show with a record turn out. Over an 800 mile round trip. Truck down great. Seen a lot of good looking 2nd gens along with all the other Mopars there.

Well today I threw the code reader back on the truck to check something. From what I've read it's normal for these O2 sensors to fluctuate from .2v to 1v.

Then I noticed this:

INjiSkw.png

What wasn't captured on here is that the O2 sensors were swinging way over 1v at idle and when they do swing both directions they cause surges and falls in idle. Which you can just barely see at the beginning of the graph.

Yay! More crap to sort out. First off I'm going to replace both and get it over with.

The rear O2 sensor went out today. I cranked the truck up and got an error saying the voltage was too high. I checked torque pro to see that bottom graph's value pegged at 1v constantly. The upside is my truck drives like it's new again. Lol

on the 01 5.2l fixed a coolant leak similar to shadow deaths, cleaned the interior and shampooed it. ordered a radio for it, and cleaned some broken glass out of the door.

I finally went to the junk yard and yanked a rollover valve and the grommet for the truck. I had a freeze plug in there while I drove it trying to find the correct grommet and rollover valve. I was reminded that I shoved a freeze plug in there when I put gas in it this morning and heard gas hitting the ground. It didn't fall in so. There's nothing to worry about. It was one of the rubber ones that you tighten down and the center spreads out to fill the hole.

Friday I replaced both the front and rear O2 sensors. Turns out the rear O2 sensor was just unplugged. That explains the high voltage code I got. I didn't fully plug it back in when I messed with it. However I know it was messed up because when it unplugged itself my truck started to use 1st gear which leads me to believe that it was back feeding power. Now all I've got left on this old girl is to replace the oil pan gasket, the valve cover gaskets, and replace the cat. Oh and maybe finish the exhaust so it doesn't just dump under the bed.

I finished recharging the AC, replaced both check valves, and rerouted the HVAC because of damage from a recent Heater core/evaporator replacement. AC is blowing ice like a champ on these hot days.

Consider yourself grumbled at for not including a finished or semi finished picture. :fca5278d:

Did the kit widen the front track? I've really thought about getting one of these kits for years!

Moving on...

I'm prepping the truck for a local show in two weeks. Yes... it will take me that long and the rain isn't helping.

I buffed scratches off the bumper, cleaned the exhaust tips, and wiped some greasy crap off the rear shocks.

I have about 10 -12 "must do" items on my list.

All for the possibility of winning a 2 dollar trophy.
