I have Last Boks cargo box. More than I wanted to spend but works great. Light enough to take out quickly or put at front of the bed for larger loads.

I just got a 2x12 and cut it to fit notches molded into bed liner. Easy & cheap.

Put a cap over bed, carpet and swing boxes. Having the extending grabber is a big help.

Get yourself one of the bars. They extend with one of those buttons you push in like a metal cane then they have rubber pads on the end so that you can twist the bar (like some shower curtain rods) to lock it in place. put that bar in the bed about 1.5 - 2 feet from the tail gate then get some plastic bins to put between the tail gate and bar. Or just put the bins in the back and use some bungee cords to go from the tie down anchors inside the bed around the back of the bins.

I like to use a larger cooler for the cold items and as mentioned before, a larger plastic tote for the other stuff.

I use a inexpensive tonneau cover - the folding, clamp on type usually less than $200, and folding crates. Have five of them back there, enough for big grocery run, no rolling around of stuff, can keep propane tank standing up correctly, etc. The tonneau is great to use, fold partially or completely, self clips on them, etc. NO hard top cover or any of that. keeps rear seat clear of stuff and any mess. Have them in/on my RAM and Dakota.

I use the $200 tonneau cover as well. I stretch a 5' bungie cord across the bed and run it through the handles of the plastic shopping bags. Takes a little longer to load/unload, but I don't have to climb onto the bed to get the oranges and avocados

Since I've switched to the Roll N Lock, I've struggled to find a good way to store items like a bottle jack, tow rope, chocks, straps, etc - I previously I used a tub with a cross bar to keep it in place at the cab end of the bed, but now with the drain tubes the tub can knock the tubes loose if it slides left/right. So I'm looking for a new solution.

I've though about using a strap connecting across the bed at the lower tie off points, but I tried that in the past and it just slips down. Maybe something like a 4x4 block on each side to prevent the tub from sliding into the tubes, plus the bar like i had before.

Re the bar, for general info I thought I was being clever and didn't buy the cheap Reese amazon/auto parts bar that everyone sells for around $20 or so, and went with a much more sturdy Heininger heavy duty one, but reality is that sucker is heavy and unwieldy when reaching over the bedside :(. I might pick up the cheaper/lighter one lol.

Any recommendations on managing grocery bags and small items in the bed?
The bed bars work, but they can be difficult to set and release. Over the years I have found that the easiest safest answer is a bungee strap attached to the aftermarket hooks we put in, across the back next to the bed gate. I keep one milk crate next to the bed gate with the bungee behind it. Welcome. Fitz

I did this for every truck I have ever owned before buying a high-speed divider last year. The only difference is I used a 2 x 8 minus crates and bump stops.
Not rubber bump stops. Rubber risers to lift the wood 5/8" up off of the bed ridges to keep it off of dampness

I've used cut to fit 2"x6" which are fine for smooth roads.
