1. is one brand prefered over another obviously titanium is the way to go over fiber wrap.
2. how many rolls or ft to use on a set using the 1/4 in overlap method.
3. to use the 2in or 1in wide. have heard using 1 with 1/4 overlap you could possibly be keeping to much heat inside the header
4. should i ceramic coat the headers first

Coat the headers, that's all Ive ever done, never no wrap if you have them coated inside and out.

Wrap is more efficient than ceramic coating. I’ve never heard anyone mention wrapping trapping to much heat. You want to keep as much heat out of the engine bay as possible. Ceramic coating will help the pipes look better longer though and wraps can hold in moisture

I rarely see wrapped headers, but see a ton of ceramic. I've had all my headers done in HPC or JetHot and you can touch them fairly quickly after vehicle is shut off. Plus they keep corrosion out of the tubes inside, where wrap cannot.
Just offering an easier prospective. :)

ive done a little research, just seeing whats been done around the hemi ram world. I believe it was the DEI video the guy said something about the wrap and wrapping to much traps to much heat within the header. And one of the main reasons of wrapping is to avoid any nightmares of things melting. i think it was "PULL YA" that had some problems with that

Wrapping keeps the heating in the tubes consistent and shielded from outside air flows. it provides scavenging performance that isn't really noticeable in the average street engine. Wrapping was never intended to keep the engine bay cooler. Coatings are a better choice for that.

3 rolls of 2" wide X 50ft wrap should do

I had my headers coated also. I wrapped the trans shift cable and a couple other cables and wires that I thought were close to the headers themselves. I also put some wrap on the headers where the trans cable had the greatest chance of touching the header tube. I also moved some lines and tie wrapped some others. If you don't want to wrap your headers themselves, my advise is to wrap anything that is close enough to touch the headers or even may be close enough---overkill, maybe, but I hate walking. Use stainless tie wraps--the plastic ones will melt. I think they also make a heat resistant sleeve that you might be able to put around your dip stick tube to prevent it from inadvertently touching a header pipe and retarding your timing.

It all depends on the climate you live in, and what size (1 3/4" or 1 7/8") headers you have.
I had my headers Jet Hot coated, and after one PA winter, the coating rusted and peeled off.
Since I will be driving my ram in the salty snow, I just installed self adhesive heat reflective material from summit racing, and installed it over my fuel lines.
1 7/8" long tubes almost touch the fuel and break lines.

They help engine bay temps by reducing the amount of heat released into the engine bay by containing the heat in the pipe which is partially what wrap was for. But yes by keeping the heat consistent in the tube it helps with scavenging better because hot gases flow easier through the pipe

Wrapping headers will also void the warranty.
I had ceramic coated JBA stainless headers on my 5.9. Wrapped them in a few tight places - the stainless actually rusted as well as ruined the ceramic coating where they were wrapped which I saw when I removed the wrap - everywhere else looked perfect yet.

I think that SoCal mentioned that he had talked to ARH about coating their headers, and I think I remember he said they told him that if you coated their headers it would void the warranty. I did it anyway and I think he did to. LOL

Only yours bud, theres pics of wrapped unrusted JBA's on the facebook pages,in Canada no less, same as you.Not sure what you're doing different then anybody else, but you're the only guy I know saying JBA's are **** and rust. You're 1 guy in several with JBA's,so what in hell are you doing that's different from everybody else, you taking them off weekly and soaking them in salt brine or something, lol.Tristian Beaudry is in Manitoba too,and he just posted pics of his wrapped JBA's and they show no signs of rust after a couple years/winters of use,so you can rule out it having anything to do with where you live, that leaves me to believe it's something you're doing wrong, but what I haven't a clue, lol
