Long story short I had a situation with my tail light the other day and she’s no longer with us. So now I just have a void where the wires and bulbs are exposed to the elements. The new one will be here by Wednesday but we have a storm rolling in on Tuesday, are the wires ok to get wet or should I find a way to mask it off til I get the new one in?

not sure about this, BUT it was me to be safe, I'd wrap them in plastic wrap or something to be on safe side.

The wires and opening will be fine getting rained on. It's not enclosed where it will hold water, you possibly can see the ground through the hole. I would point the plug down so water won't sit in the connector. Make sure it's good and dry before plugging the new light.

Are you getting an oem replacement or are taking this time to buy a different style for both sides?

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas
