Still waiting on my new 2500 Laramie Megacab Cummins to arrive. Getting kinda anxious and thinking about accessories. So far I have the Tri-fold hard tonneau cover and nerf bars. Not looking to lift the truck or do wheels because I’ll be towing a camper. Any other recommendations?

I added Amp's kick-down bumper step. Don't know if they have them out for the 19's yet, RAM also offers a like step new for 2019.

Less.

It has most everything I need. Tonneau covers get in the way of loading things in the box. Most anything made of steel that you add aftermarket will rust after the first winter. Interior farkles rattle. Knobby tires and loud exhaust systems drone.

The best add on is a 2nd set of tires/rims for winter. The latest studded Hakkapeliita is in my future. As well as putting the quad in the box, hooking up the trailer and finding new roads!

Tonneau cover, always!

I just saw on Bak's website that the part numbers for the 2019's are the same as the previous generation.

I was wondering if there would be a change since the tailgates are different.

I've got a 1 ton on order now and just got my D1 status today. One small but definite accessory I will be putting on it will be a bug/rock deflector. In my line of work i'm always on dirt roads and it's really bad on windshields. I'm hoping this helps with that problem as well as the paint chips.

This question is almost as personal as getting recommendations on what size underwear to purchase for yourself.

Everyone uses their trucks differently, requiring different options/mods. I guess nonetheless, you will get ideas of what others are doing to their truck... but they just might not work for you though.

I always go with a fiberglass camper shell as it doubles the available load space as compared to use a bed cover and I use it a Thule rack to transport my kayaks. People towing camp trailers will want to put stuff like chairs, bicycles, barbecue grill, fishing gear, etc., inside the truck bed area. With a hard shell this is not a problem and with tinted windows no one can see inside and decide to break into the truck.

Go to a RV park or check the online RV websites and you will quickly see what others have encountered and what they have done to work around various problems.

Most important aspects of trailer towing are having good tow mirrors and a good brake controller.

A topper will also help with aerodynamics and will help with fuel milage.

I don’t have one right now but I’m speaking from prior experience. Pulling the air into the bed then pushing it up over the trailer creates a vacuum. That vacuum is drag. Put a topper on and the air flow stays level with the cab then rises up over the top of trailer.
Nutshell = creating better aerodynamics. IMG_1174.JPG
