I've never understood stretching tires. I see it a lot where I live, but not my thing.

If you want to replace your tie rod ends and ball joints every 2 to 3 years, go ahead and do it. IMHO, it is a dangerous thing to do. Steering will be affected (groves in the road will pull the truck to one side or the other) and it is very rough on the steering components.
