So I installed a factory brake controller last week. I made the 4 changes required to activate it. I can see the trailer brake in my list of settings but I can't select any trailers and I'm showing a "no trailer" icon in red on the center display.

Am I missing something? What causes the red no trailer icon normally?
The red icon only comes on when the trailer plug is disconnected while running, and will stay lit until the truck is shut off. Is this a mopar part or the Dorman part?

It is the dorman part.

So if the trailer was connected and disconnected while running the light stays on? But it should go off when not connected after a new start?

Correct.
Do yourself a favor and just get the mopar part. It’s always something with the Dorman part, and usually ALWAYS something with selecting trailers and switching saved trailer profiles.

Thanks for the help. Dang rock auto and their "low prices". Now the hassle of returning it.

Fyi the Alpha is pretty easy to use after messing with it a few times.

Does the trailer have to be hooked up?

Ordering a bypass from DeerGuy, next week.

Do I need to do a PROXY alignment, for changes to my 2019 Jeep GC Traikhawk?

Just want to read up on how to do that, before I make any changes to the car.

A trailer with brakes does not have to be attached to the truck to select which trailer setting to use or make changes to those settings. If you slide the manual brake lever, the brake setting page on the 7" EVIC will pop up also without a trailer connected.
If the "No Trailer" symbol illuminates on the dash, you have either lost connection or the brakes electrical resistance is out of range. Any other time there is most like a problem with the ITBM.

I’ve purchased the software and my obd2 connector should be here in two days.

I really only have two things I’d like to do; set the larger tire size and allow in-motion navigation.

AFAIK in motion navigation is not possible through alfaobd... Not sure if there are other ways to do it.

I wish. What did they never think that you might have a passenger that could input navigation?

Ok, well not a huge deal. I really just need to set the tire size. We also have a Jeep, so I can probably use it to do some stuff there.

If any of those are a Ford product you can change the country code to bypass it.

No Fords but good to know I guess! I do agree its kinda crazy that they wont let a passenger do the work, but there is no real way to make sure its ONLY the passenger doing it.

Plus now a lot more cars are angling the screens and controls at the driver, so its pretty clear a passenger cant really do the input anyway.

If they would make voice recognition control better than it was, it would be a non issue. All of my vehicles hear my voice correctly, but you have to go through so many steps to "enter" anything, its a waste.

has anybody tried changing the country code on a Uconnect vehicle and see if it works? I know some posters on here are NOT in the America's and have foreign coded trucks

I've read quite a few people wanting to turn off the rear parksense module, but have not seen where to do it. Can anyone tell me which line needs to be changed?
