So I’m about the bite the bullet and level her. 2017 Big Horn Crew 4x4. I’d love to go 4” with 35s but it just isn’t practical for me so time to make it look best I can.

* 2.1 not 2.8 as I don’t want to worry about UCAs or rear spacers
* have Pentastar with 3.21 rear so really kinda forced at staying stock height of 33”
* Nitto Ridge Grapplers
* Either Ultra Hunter or Monster M08 (if I can live with 0 offset on 9” rim sticking out an inch over stock)
* She is strictly a street queen and proud of it

My question is, if I stay at stock 33” size, should I go 18” or 20”? I’m considering smaller due to looks, not really cost. Thinking maybe the taller sidewall might help with the look.

So
275/60/20
or
275/70/18?

I’ve searched Custom Offsets so much I’ve driving my wife nuts. Need some other opinions.

Thanks!

I'd definitely go smaller wheel more sidewall [emoji1360]
The look is much better imo , the ride is a bit smoother and less chance of sidewalk rash on your new wheels [emoji37][emoji37]

I'm a big fan of 17" wheels myself and this is as small as I can go due to brake rotors size .
My truck is a 14 though , not sure on the 2017s

i really like my 20s. happy with the ride on my Billy fronts and I guess i got tired of the clown car tire look having it for 8 yrs on my Tacoma. (not that a 33 on a 17 inch tire looks terribly "fat"). but i figure if i was going to get a custom wheel, i wanted to see the damn thing. depending on the wheel, the 17's can seem ok to me...or too small. i never have that a complaint on look with any 20" wheel that way.

I like 17s. Run then on all my vehicles even have 45s on 17 rims. I personally would never go bigger and I absolutely hate 20s or above. But ultimately it is your truck :)

Thanks for the opinions so far.

I don’t mind 20s. If I was going 34” or 35” I’d probably keep 20s. But seeing as how I’m keeping 33” and I’ve seen trucks leveled with stock wheels and tires, and it just looks small.

Granted I’m going with a much more aggressive tire which will help.

One thing is if I go 20s I can stay P metric with a tire under 50lbs. If I go 18s it means an LT tire but still under 60lbs.

Looking back I should’ve gotten a 3.55 rear end knowing I was going to level but oh well.

All personal preference, IMO the factory 20s are starting to look small as we evolve.

Looking at Rebels with the 17's is extremely out of scale with the rest of the vehicles on the road. If you're a hardcore off-roader and actually need the sidewall or just want to be different, you do you.tiny-wheels-on-big-pickup.jpg

At least I’m not going for that look. Haha. Here is what it comes down too.

Pic in order
275/70/18 with level
275/60/20 with level
275/60/20 with 4”

I’m just going level of course but gives an idea. All these wheels have 0 or 1 offset which will be same as mine except the bottom one with a 4” lift has 2” wheel spacers.

Whatya think?

My old 1500 leveled with 0mm offset wheels on 34.5x12x18s (305/70R18). I also had the 3.21 gears but with the hemi it wasnt really that bad performance wise.

If your sticking with 33s I would go 18s it will make the tires look bigger.
