Has anyone here with a 2019 Big Horn 1500 (new style) that came without heated mirrors installed the power folding mirror kit from infotainment.com? If so, can you confirm that the heat/defrost function worked properly for you after the install?

I say this because I am looking at getting that kit as a way to add heated mirrors mainly, with folding as a side benefit. If the heat doesn't work it will be a waste of money.

I called their customer service and the guy there said if you didn't have heat originally then the mirrors won't add heat. But he said other things that made me think he didn't entirely know what he was talking about. And I'm pretty sure there are some people here with my same truck and trim who installed these mirrors and can confirm they were able to get defrost as well as the folding.

I installed them, but I live in Florida, so I can't say much for the heat/defrost. I know it's supposed to work!

Yeah. Tough for me too to confirm whether my 2019 has heated mirrors at this time of year ... I'm the new second owner of one that has 15,000 miles, so I can't say for sure what options it had on delivery. The mirrors don't have the heat icon, but it looks like it had the black appearance package and the cargo package. Which would mean heat, but it may have the tow package too, I can't tell, which would have overwritten the heat, which is super, super stupid and lame. Mirror debacle strikes again.

Anyway, my dealer couldn't say what it had on the invoice origionally and so I called FCA to find out exactly what the installed options were upon delivery. System was down of course. Lame. Hoping to find out soon.

Anyway. I'm in the northeast so heat really matters. And Winter is Coming (tm). haha.

I just looked at my old tow mirrors (still have them) and they do have the defrost symbols on them.

Click on that link, remove the vin# from the address bar and replace it with your vin# in all caps like it is in the link. That will give you the build sheet to your vehicle which will have every single option it had from the factory.

Thanks so much! This is exactly what I needed. And, yes, it confirms I had exactly the options I thought - all the major options packages - and it is therefore exactly a "mirror debacle" truck - a pay-through-the-nose-for-every-upgrade-under-the-sun and end up with mirrors you have to scrape like it was still 1976 even though it's a ludicrously expensive half ton truck.

I can see why the original owner dumped it!

I guess the last thing I need to do is still confirm whether I can add defrost if I replace the mirrors with the infotainment ones. Because as the second owner who didn't have to pay full price, it's such a top-line package for the Big Horn that I think the extra 1,500+ out of pocket for that upgrade would make sense in this vehicle. But only if I get defrost too.

You're welcome! It's definitely a good resource to have for your current and possible future trucks. Sorry I can't help you further in terms of the more technical questions, someone one here surely has done a swap like that though. Seems like I've seen people do more complex upgrades so I would have to think it's doable, just if it's worth it vs the cost. I've had them on my last 3 rams but I'm not really sure how much I've used them. The 17 I have currently has the auto climate but the last 2 did not, so when I would remote start during winter it wouldn't turn the mirrors on, but I never really experienced much ice buildup on them. I've used them a few times while driving over the years but that was it, I'm in NY so similar weather to what you have I would expect.
