Thanks for the quick response! I guess before I try anything, I'll put in a ticket with Phoenix. Ughhh.

I'm going your route if/when mine stops working. The last thing I'm going to spend money on this radio is to have the bezel 3D scanned and reprinted (if he doesn't charge too much). At least it's not smoking! I can tell you my suggestion but you already know what I am going to say. Lol

can somebody send me where I can purchase the 10.1 joying for a 2017 ram 1500 to replace the 8.4 ? like that better than the t-style radio
I received my replacement Joying unit from Amazon. The first one was obviously a return because this one was packaged differently. The Intel version is awesome. The radio takes one second to load and everything just works.
Including the built in Carplay.
I can confirm that the Joying 10.1 inch screens are a great alternative to the T-Style Radios without the climate controls obviously. Slightly cheaper even after purchasing the radio and all the adapters.
If anyone goes this route I am happy to give more details of the specific radio, adapters, and settings I charged to dial it in. Here is a night shot of the radio. I'm using car launcher AG because their stock launcher sucks.

I know! And....hearing about yours smoking freaks me out! When I was driving the truck yesterday.....I kept looking to make sure there was no smoke coming from the top area or from around the AC vent.
I believe that these radios were designed with the 4.4.4 board in mind. Everything else is a modification they are selling. 7.1 boards draw more power than the original design calls for and will sometimes cause a hard reboot (this may occur when WiFi or USB is used).I had a 7.1 unit with a fried board some months ago, while I didn't see any smoke coming out it definitely smelled like burnt rubber.
Ok guys since there seems to be interest in the Joying head unit as an alternative to the Tesla style radios I started a new thread. I didn't want to derail this thread any further.

Tagging people who showed interest or may be looking for an alternative to the PX6 units.

Some have had success (hit and miss) with Phoenix. I bought mine from the krando manufacturer in China. If you go to my description in the YouTube video I posted a link to them. Be prepared to wait a month for the unit though. I feel like I might be one of the only guys here who hasn't had ridiculous problems with her unit.... Going this route worked for me.I've scanned through the comments, i just recently started looking into changing my radio on my 16 tradesmen 1500. Can the tesla style radios still be purchased somewhere..reputable? Thanks.

Your video is the deciding factor for purchasing the unit. Maybe my issue was viewing their website on my phone as it looked like a fake kinda like when that obvious scam phone number rings [emoji3166]. I'll check it out on my desktop. Thanks for watching brother! I used the Alibaba app and my credit union visa to buy mine. I'm not saying every situation is going to turn out as happy as mine was but this was the best route for me.Your video is the deciding factor for purchasing the unit. Whatever you decide, I think everybody here would agree with me saying, stay away from that three-button version! Especially if you buy it from rhino or Amazon..... This seems to be the cheaper yet most popular bootleg version of this radio.I've scanned through the comments, i just recently started looking into changing my radio on my 16 tradesmen 1500. Touche', the same unit heads is what made me question the site. It's the same on the Alibaba app. I'll sit down tomorrow and try to figure it out. Thanks.Reputable is a matter of opinion and personal experience with each of the companies. Everyone here will most likely give you a different answer.
Below are the companies mentioned in this thread the most.
Linkswell T-Style radio - They are available on Amazon but are the most expensive. However they actually touch these radios before sending them out to customers. They are running an older version of Android and are the only option for an external mic without soldering.
Phoenix Radio - Shipped straight from China. Shipping time may vary. Customers support is hit or miss. Returns are easy. I returned two units without issue. May have hardware issues with new PX6 units.
Rhino Radios - Shipped straight from China. Shipping time may vary. Customers support is hit or miss. Returns are easy. I returned one unit without issue. Also sells new PX6 units. Not quite as popular as Phoenix.
Krando/Manufacturer - Ships straight from China. Shipping time may vary. Website is confusing with multiple of the same head units with different prices. Returns are questionable.
