Looking on input for leveling my Ram Bighorn. I would like to level it, not sure if spacers are the way to go and if so, should I enlarge the tires?

Spacers are the easiest and it doesn’t really mess with your suspension if you use them. Longer struts and springs are the correct way to do it though. I have a 4” Rough Country lift that uses spacers in the front and rear and everyone that rides in my truck tells me that it rides like a Cadillac.

As for the tires, that’s kind of up to the owner’s taste. I had a few Chevy Silverados that I leveled and they looked ok with stock tires but I liked them more with bigger tires because they filled the wheel well better. The downside is that you will have to program the PCM to have the speedometer corrected for them. Otherwise, you will have to mentally adjust it because the speedometer will be off a certain number of MPH because of the size difference.

It depends on how much lift you want and what kind of condition your current suspension is in. Since you said level, I assume you’re looking for the typical 2 inches or so up front and nothing in the rear? If it has a lot of miles on it and you think it could benefit from new struts anyway, then I’d kill two birds with one stone and put the Bils 5100 in the front and be done. But, if your struts are in good shape and your happy with everything other than wanting to level it out, there’s nothing at all wrong with spacers. Just don’t go with the cheapest spacers you can get. The generic open top spacers (the kind that is just a big aluminum circle with a large opening in the center) can cause your upper strut mount to prematurely fail. I’m not trying to promote any particular brand, but I used the Rough Country 2” leveling kit up front and am very happy with it.

I used 2.5" superlift spacers on mine. Easy install no change in ride at all. I was able to fit 35's but only after 1.5" spacers.

Do it right and put Bilstein's at no more than 2.1" setting on it, on the front and call it a day. do it right the first time and not worry about any potential other suspension issues. take that peace of mind money you'll save and put a little bigger tires on it, if you want. On the tires you'll have weigh looks, frankly against budget. in canada, the price difference is so huge changing from stock tire sizes it can be a case of 25 to 40% more for an inch of tire height difference. its just not worth it to me at that price.

Why is putting bilsteins on "doing it right"? For a 2 inch level the added cost doesn't make sense. Spacers are proven easy technology that is much cheaper and if you buy quality and install right you will never have an issue. To each his own but don't say one is right and one is wrong. Also you will never have to replace a spacer, those holsteins will eventually need to be replaced.

The truck has only 45k miles on it. And my main goal was just to level the front, so i can take the slight dip in the nose. It has 275/60R20 tires right now (stock) and i was going to just put on some A/T’s or M/T’s with the black dodge rims.

Yup, what you said. No need to go expensive with struts on a 45k mile truck. He won't benefit in any way.

Ah ok so if i get the $50 ones you think i'll be ok?
Nope. Mine were 150. Had them on for years about 50k miles not a single issue. They only came off because I lifted the truck. They looked brand new when they came off. Ignorance is bliss though...

The Bilsteins for me anyway, give me a better ride and better handling up front. he may never have to replace a spacer, he may have to replace other front end components depending on the quality of the spacer he ends up getting.
