anyone? is a ground a ground if i use the white and light green wire that powers the rear door ambient lights?
When you need a ground for low voltage, any ground wire will do.

I read through this whole thread and its definitely confusing. I am wanting to do this to my regular cab 2016 RT (Sport). I'm a bit lost on still how to do it. If it involves getting codes turned on from dealer I will forget it but if its basically plug and play for the Sport truck owners I wanna give it a go. Has anybody with the Sport package got these to work? If so, any info would be great. ALso, I only have a regular cab truck so no need for rear doors info. Thanks, if you can help. This thread is over a year old but just got to it. lol

HD.....for the door bezels to work like OEM then yes you would need to have the function turned on in the BCM. It is just one setting. Your other choice is to tap into wires that are inside your door for power and ground. Which "hot" wire you pick( if tapping) will determine when the door bezel lights will come on.

Look at the alpha OBD thread. You don’t need to make a trip to the dealership when you have this. There are lots of different options you can turn on and off with it. Well worth it

I definitely need to get the alpha obd thing. Seems pretty cool. If that enables the led light to work Im definitely gonna consider it. I try to keep things as factory as possible. Thanks for the reply

Just Finished Laramie door panel install. If you have a 2018 Express, you can tap into the red/white stripe and solid grey wire that lead into the window power switch for door panel LED illumination. Several posts here have indicated different colors than in mine. Front panels are as stated in earlier posts regarding front door module pin-outs
for LEDs.

I THINK these are the replacements for the black door handle bezels with the LED option … someone would have to verify first...

Bumping this old thread..

Does anyone know if the Laramie lighted handle bezel was ever produced in Gray? If so what is that part number?
It appears it was only black and brown from my research but thought I would ask any way.

Thanks,

That's what I thought thanks. Was hoping they made a gray one I could just pop in. Swapping out the entire door panels for black ones will drive the cost up to more then I want to spend I think

.

If interested I have wire harnesses and kits made up for those that want to install either the full panel swaps or just the door handle light swaps. 4 door kits includes front door harnesses and rear door harnesses. PM me, can ship anywhere.

I manage to get my wiring from another truck that was from a limited and everything plugs in and works like a charm for me . No need to get a kit or anything for me . Just had to strip the wires and put it into mine and use alpha to add the code on it . 6AC66003-9A95-4729-9711-ADD87EF8D901.jpeg376F33FD-4A66-498C-8088-43622F11CFB7.jpeg866AA1F0-2DE1-4EC6-B6B6-493FDC9073C6.jpeg

Are you saying you pulled the OEM harnesses from a limited truck, reinstalled in your truck and programmed and everything workeD? This is what I was planning on doing, it's about 60 bucks per door harness and LB2 appears to be the sales code, at least for the rear. I was worried about it needing a pin on the body harness that might not be there.

I just checked my door harness and I'm missing pin 4 - footwell lamp and pin 6 - Passive entry in my body connector side. Does anyone know where to grab the footwell lighting or does the whole truck harness need to be replaced back to the BCM? I guess I can just use deerguy's wiring recommendation further back in this thread but I though maybe I was on to something being able to replace the door harness only.
