need to replace my headlights and am very confused on the LED or standard lights.

I can’t get into a complicated LED install but really want a very bright white light.......please advise what path I should go down!

HIDs are the way to go... I went from halogen to LED and now am about to install the GTR HIDs from headlight revolution. Best light output by far from what I’ve read.

This is like asking a bunch of guys what the ideal beer should taste like (answer: grow up and find a good scotch.)

In all seriousness, it's not all that hard to put in an LED, HID, or bog-standard Halogens... and the installs are largely the same, with small variations.

The LEDs I just put in didn't require AlfaOBD (I'm keeping it anyway), and they hurt my retinas when I put them in at noon - on the other hand, the hi-beams barely fit in the dust covers. Other LED sets do require an OBD tweak, or they come with driver dongles, or both. HIDs usually require ballasts if your truck never came with 'em. Halogens are predictable, but usually dim (unless you modify your housings to use oddball halogen light types which are brighter).

Oh, and this all hinges on whether or not you have reflector lights or projectors.

PS: Please tell me you don't have a grille guard - if you do things just got real ugly. I'll illustrate what I dealt with just to swap lightbulbs when you have a grille guard... and it wouldn't have mattered which kind of bulb. And yes, the grille comes off no matter what - kinda required:

Do some searching on here on how to do the H11 to H9 low beam conversion. It will increase the output by at least 30-40% and is a cheap upgrade and only requires cutting a small tab off of the plastic part on the back of the bulb. Plug and play although you will have to remove the headlights no matter what you do which is a PITA. Let us know what you think. I bought my bulbs off of Amazon.

I have the supernova V.4 LEDs in my Laramie. Plug and play. I'm very happy with them.

I got them from Headlight Revolution. I've had them for a year with no issues at all
