Who here has the Mopar Performance Exhaust system?

Asking because I’m really on the fence if I remove the resonators will it increase the sound and have a deeper tone (possibly drone) or would it make no difference at all?

I’ve read with some exhausts removing the resonators made zero difference and with others the drone got unbearable. I don’t want a rasp like when I removed resonators with old Camaro and had Borla ATAK; in this instance it sounded like a ricer. But this is a HEMI V8! So maybe the power will show!

Doesn’t seem like many on here have the Mopar Exhaust.. But maybe someone who has and done reso delete can chime in.

Quite a few of the aftermarket exhaust cat backs all have no resonators in the kits. Look on youtube a listen to some of them, Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow, Solo, SW, MBRP, etc. See if any have sound qualities you are trying to avoid. All sound good.
Someone can verify on here, but I think the Mopar exhaust is made by Borla?? Or Corsa??

I don't have a Mopar Performance exhaust but after 3 4th gen Rams I can tell you surprisingly the thing that made the most difference in the "tone" of each one of the exhaust systems I had on each of the trucks was the 5" tips. I ran Magnaflow mufflers on all of them, but the "tips" always made the exhaust sound "better", a deeper tone without the raspy sound. The tips did not cure the drone however. The volume button on the radio did---LOL

Assuming mine are 4” tips, would rather not butcher up the tips for 1” size difference. I bet it would make a great difference going from OEM small tips to 5” tips, but from a 4” to 5” doubt it’ll be that noticeable.

That’s interesting, didn’t catch I have resonators in the Mopar exhaust. Haven’t checked underneath, but does that mean I have TWO sets of resonators then?!!? Because if that’s the case then I most definitely should probably cut them other resonators closer to the cats out then.

@NY Andrew , sorry to bring back this thread from the dead but I was curious if you did anything?

I have the Mopar Performance exhaust as well, but with the 5" tips. I crawled under the truck and noticed it had resonators close to the exhaust tips between the muffler and the tips. Curious what that would sound like if I went and had them cut out? :33:

Nah man I ain’t ever found anyone who’s done it and I don’t want to be the first because on past muscle cars I did it to it made it sort of raspy and based off the YouTube comments 90% said it was better before the resonator delete lol. By all means give it a shot if you want though and help the Mopar performance exhaust group out!

Not sure at what point the Mopar exhaust got the small resonators added, seen them when looking at systems on the internet? I bought a used system from a guy that had bought one for a 2012 and this one does not have the reso's in the tail pipe section before the 5 inch tips. Deeper and louder than stock but I hear nothing raspy about it.

The wife has the Mopar system on the Charger which is suppose to be a Corsa Sport. Now she thinks she want the Corsa Extreme mufflers after riding in the truck

I was wondering the same thing. I got mine in spring 2014 and no resonators are on it.

*EDIT*

I'm forgetful a lot - my Mopar exhaust was actually bought in 2012, just not installed on my current truck until spring 2014. So, at least back in 2012 - the Mopar exhaust didn't come with resonators.
