I just purchased a new 2019 RCSB (1500 classic) that has the trailer tow mirrors option.
I want to swap them out for new OEM standard mirrors - does anyone know if this is a standard remove / install (bolt-on) or is there more to it?

I believe so as long as they have the same options. I'm looking to swap my standard mirrors for tow mirrors. Mine are heated, puddle lights, turn signal, and power fold.

Yep super easy, I went the other way, but you can get regular mirrors with the puddle lights.

Yes, very simple. Remove the door panel, the lights have individual connectors on the door panel module so that wont matters the main thing you'll want to make sure that your new mirrors come with the ambient temp sensor

I am assuming the new mirrors have the ambient temp sensor because they are factory OEM mirrors - any thoughts on that?

Also, any issues with the fact I am going from a turn signal mirror to a non turn signal mirror ??....Thoughts ??

You will just lose those features, you can find standard mirrors with turn signals, or maybe trade someone their full feature mirrors for your tow mirrors.

As for the ambient sensor make sure you buy mirrors for a 2016 or newer, the older trucks didn’t have that sensor

All 2013+ driver side mirrors have the temp sensor.
Since the turn signal circuit will still be active with no bulb at the end of the circuit, you’ll probably get a turn signal out warning or a hyper flash on the other signals. You’d probably have to disable that setting.

Or a friendly tech at the dealer can do it. I had my signal and puddle lights activated for free after my mirror swap.
Only *IF* the option to remove that sales code shows up in the witech for his VIN, and somehow willing to do it for free. I would count on it being an hour of labor charge, which is probably ~$100, anyway. For that, might as well get the AlfaOBD and be able to change whatever you want whenever you want.

The option should show if it functions. And yes, most dealers will charge unless you know how strike a deal.

Tech told me it took less than 2min to do.

Of course AlfaODB can do much more, just putting options on the table, free ones.
