I have a 2010 5.7 hemi with a transmission rebuilt 10 months ago by a shop with a good reputation. Sometimes, when towing, my trans temp goes super high, sometimes its normal.

Towing #6000 travel trailer over flat ground at 60 mph, 70F ambient. 1 hour in - 209F, 2 hours in 236F, 3 hours in 195F. Same road, same speed, no traffic. Towed home 2 days later - 85F ambient, 2 hours in -195F.

Fluid, filters, etc. were all new with the rebuild. shop that did the rebuild "No idea". obviously it would be very hard to duplicate at the shop.

Any ideas from the experts?

If your engine temps are normal I’m thinking bypass valve too.

I don’t think a 2010 Hemi has the bypass valve. I couldn’t find it.

I believe every engine in the 1500 had the 545RFE from ‘03-11.

Yes, I think it has a 545rfe but I dont see a bypass valve. I've traced the line from the trans to the cooler and dont see it. Anyone have a picture?
