Just bought my first RAM and wanted to say hello. I'm an old fart that has mostly owned Fords and just traded in an old '89 Ford Ranger 4X4 that I had for 30 years. Started out looking at the new Rangers and Toyota Tacomas, but then saw this Warlock at a dealer here in Tucson. Test drove it and fell in love with it. Got it for less than the dealers would give on either the Ranger or Toyota. It only has the 6 cyl engine, but at over 300 horses, it's got more than enough power for me. Gonna take some getting used to driving such a bigger truck and it doesn't come close to fitting in my garage, but I really love the ride.
I'll be asking lots of questions, but already got quite a few answers just by reading some of the posts. And I saw a post about getting $250.00 back from RAM and have already submitted for that. Also have already ordered the bypass harness for the AlphaOBD. There are quite a few mods that I hope to do over time. The only thing I've added so far is a set of nerf bars that I had installed. The next thing on my list is to add the audio controls to the steering wheel.
Don't get me wrong, over all I love the truck. But I just don't understand why they cut corners on a lot of things that I assumed would be included on this truck. Like the audio controls on the steering wheel. And as I understand it, the 8.4C screen that I have is not capable of adding navigation to it. I guess if I wanted to add navigation, I have to replace the whole radio system. Not so sure I would want the factory navigation anyway though, not if you have to pay $20.00 a month for it. On my Explorer the nav system is for life. All I have to do is update the maps every so often. Ford wants over $150.00 for each map upgrade, but I buy them off ebay for about $20.00 a pop. For as little as I use navigation, I sure am not willing to pay $250.00 a year.
Another disappointment is no height adjustment on the seats. My wife can't see over the hood so will try using a pillow. Kind of a crappy work around if you ask me.
Am trying to add a photo of the truck, since everybody on the forum wants pictures. Thanks again for all the help I've found on this forum, and I'm sure a lot more help is coming my way.
