So got real weights. Was surprised how heavy the truck was.

Truck = 2018 Ram 2500 Outdoorsman, CC, Off-Road package 6.4 Hemi. 100% stock with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel = 7240lbs

Truck, trailer, and boat was 15,900lbs. Boat and trailer was 8660lbs. Tongue weight was 680lbs.

Pulls great. Could have got away with a 1500 with 3.92s but I like my truck so I'm good with it.

Yes they are heavy! Mine with me in it, a full tank of gas, & the 5th wheel hitch is right at 7,600lbs.

I ran up to the gravel pit today to grab a load of 1 to 3 crushed. Going in with the 3500, me, 1/2 tank of fuel, and the 16-foot dump trailer, I weighed 13,420. The trailer weight is 5,500 claimed, I've never weight it or the truck separately. So if the claimed trailer weight number is right, that puts the truck at 7,920 pounds.

Probably pretty accurate. Mine was 7240 with the 6.4 so add about 700 for the CTD puts that number pretty close. Not sure if the 3500 weighs more than the2500 but I don't think so.

Yikes... less than 8% tongue weight? I'm not a boat guy so maybe this is just the way they are setup? If that was a travel trailer you'd be in the ditch due to sway.

Yes boat trailers usually run a lighter tongue weight than a travel trailer, depending on who you ask it's 7%-10%.
Part of the reason is where the majority weight of the boat is in relation to the axle(s). Boats are a little more aerodynamically stable too.

dhay, what boat you got? I have a 24ft HydraSports that I have never weighed but It is in that neighborhood. The manufacture lists hull and motors at 5,ooo lbs. Add 180gal fuel, water, oil, t-top, electronics, trailer... in the 9k lb range.

As far as tongue weight, I have mine with under 100 lbs and it pulls straight. As mentioned, the axles are far back and the weight (motors, fuel) are close to them.

I have a 2006 Crownline 250CR. 25' cabin cruiser. Dry weight is listed as 6600lbs. Boat weighs ~7300lbs as it sits with 20 gallons of fuel. Trailer weighs 1300lbs
