Oh yea....that's nothing, I had the car below for 8 months and sold it, lost some money, but had to get back in a truck!

Vararam only way to go.
Had a K&N hot air sucker and threw it in the trash.
Install the supplied decals included and it's good for an additional 30hp.

I am using my third Volante; 2005 Ram,2010 Ram,2018 Ram. Never a problem.

Those Volant intakes seem to be overlooked a lot but from what I’ve seen of them online they look like a good intake. That Powercore filter is interesting too...

I just bought a 2016 Ram Express with the 5.7 Hemi. I want to put a cold air intake on the truck, any suggestions as to brand? Open box or enclosed box?
Why do you think you know more than the engineers? If you read the specifications on the cold air intake, most don’t add any improved hp until you are around 8,000 RPM, which, is totally unrealistic because you will “red line” at about 6500. I purchased a cold air system years ago, on an 05’ Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi. And never seen improvement in power nor fuel efficiency improvement. Most cold air intake systems manufactures want you to purchase aftermarket PCM upgrades to override Manufactures setting. But that’s very costly for minimum gain. My suggestion is if you want such system research and do some product reviews from users not what’s published on their websites, because, many of those “5” star rating are coming from in house not real users. Best of luck.

Real users have found there is an improvement in performance on the track when using a Vararam. IMHO stock trucks are factory equipped and tuned for the general public. If you want to increase the performance there are associated costs---remember the saying--"Going fast costs money, so just how fast do you want to go"? How much of an increase in performance you want is your decision, how much of an increase each bolt on provides is and has been an ongoing discussion.

You have the scoop too right? Which filter? I tracked down an older model S&B with the lower scoop which was NOT easy to find. I wish I had seen the Volant had the lower scoop too before I hunted those down...

Yes I have the scoop and the Donaldson filter.
Yeah those S&B scoops are hard to find. I was looking but gave up and went with the Volant.
Edit: Also I thought I read that the S&B air scoop intake was located behind the passenger side tire and people were complaining of dust and mud being kicked up into it?

I tell you, my smile was big when stomping on it when stock, but it’s ear to ******* ear with the snarling growl of an exhaust and S&b intake!
I believe you-Ive heard some of them locally--but I think i will have to wait until I actually need a new exhaust-unless I fall into some unexpected cash.Just cant see cutting off a perfectly good system. First time I wished something would wear out sooner than later.

Stock box, drop in high flow filter and a add a tube 3" from box to behind front bumper helped my stock motor pull better/longer. Kind of like an added breath on upper rpm/wot!

Oh, and paint for another 5 hp...lol

I thought of trying that-just figured the air would be same temp as that from the wheel-well, perhaps it does help by forcing air in at cruising speeds-- I may try-its cheap enough, however weather is going to ***** now-wish I tried it in the summer!

It definately wasn't/isn't about the air TEMP more about the air FLOW. Ambient air from either place, bumper or fender, but added opening and tube means added air intake...

We did the same thing. We had the Mustang for 7 months. Our “new” 2018 Laramie is in the background. Yes, nice to be back in a RAM. The blue 2014 RAM is what we traded in on the Mustang.

I question why the rpm quit a 5 thou..The hemi is a 6200 red line..Unless it dramatically drops from 5g on..

OEM shift points are ~5600, unless pulsar tune changes them and to my knowledge it cannot. Never thought to try in manual ERS mode when stock, might be 6K.
