I am looking for a deep tone exhaust. Had a couple of guys at the Dodge dealership I work at ask about ordering Carven exhaust and got me wanting to upgrade my exhaust sooner than I was planning. I am wanting a deep tone. I get envious every time my friend starts his hellcat. LoL I have also been thinking about a muffler delete. Just so confusing at times.

Muffler delete with resonators and cats still installed sounds beautiful. Ran it for two years on my truck. It got lots of compliments. Went long tubes and cat delete and the truck was so loud it sounded awesome but drew too much attention lol. Muffler delete is easiest for decent sound.

Muffler deletes work pretty damn well if you keep everything else like @Brandon-w says. I've been running a Super 10 direct fit I got on the cheap pretty soon after I got my truck back in 2016 and it sounds about perfect for me with the cats and stock resonators in place. Pretty much anything on the aggressive side while keeping the stock resonators sounds pretty good on these trucks without worrying about too much drone (MDS Disabled) or poppiness.

The super 10 is just a touch quieter than a muffler delete, but not by a whole lot being a single chamber. It's just dialed back enough that it was barely fine for a daily driver working nights on and off back when I lived in the city.

Only way to get deeper is to eliminate any restriction and enlarge diameter.

when you’re at church on Sunday, the bass of the organ isn’t going through 2.25” y-pipe amirite?

My last 2 feet of pipe are 5 inches in diameter, “parking lot car alarm fire starter”. •Endquote

I'm running a flowmaster 50 series single in dual out. Goes from 3.5" to 3" out the muffler. I used to have side exiting tips but took them off and have the pipes exit on either side of the spare. I like the no exhaust outlet look. Sounds nice and deep and throaty even with the mds. When I step on it you hear me passing you with windows up. Love it.

if you find a catback for the Hemi, it should fit the V6. I know the Magnaflow 16869 does, as well as the stock OEM Ram 1500 setup, if someone unbolts the whole kit and takes off. Other than pipes coming out bumper, it fits, and changes the tone of the V6.

You don't have to go delete or shorty. Unfortunately the OEM is ginormous and most options to improve your tone do involve make-up pipe.

I have a 24" magnaflow in a DIY kit by Mufflex. Its flow-through and has a nice sound, "Hey! I've got a Hemi!" not "F.U. I'm an obnoxious neighbor."

Came pre-fab with all the stainless pipe and hangers.

But when I added the 5" tips (as described in other posts above) I got that deep almost side-pipes tone I think you are looking for. Alone they only help a bit, but with a better, smaller free-flowing muffler they make a HUUUUGE difference.

I would not recommend a chambered muffler because MDS will drive you bat-sh@t crazy with drone.

My Flowmaster super 44 sounds good! Cold starts are a touch loud but after it warms up it’s tolerable for sure. I will have the carven 5” tips on soon and will report the sound difference.

Interesting. I’ll have to check this out. So basically if I wanted, I could get the whole exhaust set up meant for the hemi and even switch to dual exhaust too right? I just don’t want it to sound raspy when I accelerate, you know what I mean. Just a nice clean, deep mild rumble at start up/idle and throaty when accelerating.

I believe someone did a thread on here about taking the stock dual 5.7 exhaust and installing on their V6... let me see if I can find it

Yup, sold my catback off my new 5.7 CC to a guy that had a RC V6...he cut half moons in his bumper, bolted right up.
