Just traded my 07 mega cab for a 17 mega. Went from diesel to gas also. New truck has the class v receiver and sits a lot higher. Don't want to use adapter (rattles) and figure how many I need to replace.
Hoy many of ya'll are using an adjustable class v hitch and are the aluminum ones any good? I'd also like it to be black. Hardly ever pull anything over 5000#.

I have a weigh safe and love it. Pulled a 10000# trailer with it. No problems at all.

Check out etrailer.com as they have a great selection of adjustable hitches for the 2" receiver tube. That's where I got mine.

I pull three different trailers with my weigh safe... 4k, 7k, and you to 12k. That thing works great!

Small correction, but it’s a 2.5”

Good catch. It certainly is 2.5". Looks like my fingers went swiping past the keyboard too quickly.

I used this OEM Mopar adapter from Amazon so I could use my WDH from my 1500 which had a 2" receiver on my 2017 2500 which has a 2 1/2 inch receiver. There is absolutely no rattle when towing and no rattle when not towing so I leave it in all the time.
It was only $28.36

These adaptors came with my 2500 in 2014. Of course the dealer didn't tell me it was under the rear seat storage area.

I too have that adapter. It doesn't rattle, until I hit a set of railroad tracks a bit hard...But then, any unloaded hitch does that.

The adapter came with my 2018 2500. Mine rattled a bunch on our poor quality roads so I moved to the 2.5 hitch and now all is quiet.

I went from a 1500 to a 2500. Bought a 2.5" weigh safe 180, a 2.5" d-ring mount, and 2.5" shaft for my blue ox weight distribution hitch. I don't like dealing with adapters, especially when trying to get everything lined up with my 50lb WDH.
Now I do leave my old 2" in the hitch with an adapter when not towing anything. It's my rear bumper protector. Saved my last truck at least once.
