I just want a working system too! Linkswell radios aren't the newest software....they're running Android 4.4.4 with a PX3 processor. But, if it works without problems, I'll be happy. And, didn't have good luck with the built-in mic's on the PX6 units... It worked fine for Android Auto voice commands....but no one could hear me on my cell phone.

I’m trying to figure out next how to make a usb mic work but I think you need newer software to add that functionality in android

I'm seriously considering one of these.. but not if I'm going to have to mess with it on a frequent basis. I see the benefit of the PX6 model for the extra processing power. I guess I've got a few general questions.. 1, is Phoenix as awful to deal with as I'm reading or have a small handful of folks had very bad luck? 2 - is the PX6 with integrated CarPlay ready for prime time?

Thanks in advance for your help.

After ordering two PX6 units from Phoenix.... I'd definitely say they're that bad to deal with. Don't waste your time with them.

I don't know if the manufacturer of these units did something different with the mics recently, but my mic is crystal clear to people. (as crystal clear as a hands free mic gets anyway) I've never had to repeat myself once.

With this last FW update, I now have a fully functional PX6 unit. Could be the only one IN THE WORLD!! MWA HAHAHA!!

Yes, I think it's quite possible that you have the only working PX6 in the world!

I'm thinking that right now.... there's some Chinese dudes driving around Canada in a Tesla replica car built on a '86 Fiero platform (with a non-working PX6 inside) and exhaust pipes sticking out the back…. looking for you. They want this radio back to see how it could possibly be working...

Just finished installing my Linkswell unit and now I have a new problem.... With my old PX6 units, the problem was always getting them to start up correctly. Now, with this Linkswell unit I have the opposite problem. It won't shut down....at all. The only way to cut power to it was to disconnect the battery. Any suggestions???

Sounds like the wiring harness is not drawing power from the ACC 12V, but rather the constant 12V. You may have received a cross wired harness. Do you have your harness still from the Phoenix unit?

I'm not sure what's causing it. I was able to get Walt, the owner of ADC Mobile on the phone....even though they were closed on Sunday. He suggested I download and run all of the latest updates from the linkswell website. I installed the updates for APP, AirPane, MCU and PlugBox. One of the updated for PlugBox said it fixed the "no shut off". But, none of them worked. Walt said he would talk to Linkswell in the morning and see what they want to do next. He seemed to think it's the small box that controls everything.... He said whatever it is, they'll make sure they send me whatever I need right away. At least I have way better customer service with them! Still sucks to go from two radios that wouldn't start up correctly.....to one that won't shut down.

Well a week has gone by since the Nov FW update, and the HU is running perfectly.
Wish it had operated like this since day one, but trial and error is fun too, so long as the end results are good.

Loving being able to actually use my heat controls first thing, as I'm currently buried under a foot of snow.

I noticed that Linkswell states they still use Android 4.4.4 because it's the most reliable automotive software.... but, my Linkswell unit has 6.0.1

I'm starting to think even the customer service from Linkswell isn't all that great. Since my unit will not power down....Linkswell directly (not the dealer I purchased it from) is going to send a new control box and new main harness. It finally got sent out yesterday and the tracking shows 6 days til I receive it. I think they should have sent it overnight from CA to NJ....since I received a radio that doesn't work. Maybe I'm expecting too much?

Here's a snip from a so-called "press release" about Linkswell... Guess this is just a bunch of BS.

I believe it's actually just a marketing page disguised as "news".

I think I've run across this issue before, if I have something to try I'll let you know...

Agreed.... Those type of "press releases" are just a marketing thing. Basically adding more pages that will come up in their search results. But, they're still posting this info online with links from their website to these pages. So if they're willing to state these things, I think they should live up to their statements. I don't like how they say "we'll overnight you things if your climate controls aren't working".....and then ship a 1 pound box where it takes 6 days in transit...when my whole unit doesnt work.
