@superjoe83 thanks for the tips... the phone/android app seems to be working. will test the laptop later. I tried BigDaddyHouse youtube video of backing up your data... tried it, file uploaded, but empty. It might be because I am using a DEMO version. I will pay and get full version today and retest. still on fence of Android or Windows version. I like laptop bigger screen, but lots of users seem to use the android version.
Connect to the BCM, then tap the battery icon.

This will force a BCM read and allow you to upload a file :)

Yes, I have dedicated DRLs. Added the mpgrimm pigtail to each headlight from the front end harness connector. Set Alfa DRL settings to what jimmy suggested.

I see more options than 7.4 to 8V as the DRL target voltage, but I was not connected to the truck when I checked so its possible it gets limited when I connect....although at one point I had my DRLs set to 11.4V so Im pretty sure I could go higher than 8. Not sure if the DRL type and location have an effect on the voltage you can send them. Or maybe its a function of model year (mine is a 2017).

I think I can access the junction I put in the DRL lead without removing the headlights....if I can do that I will try to meter the lead and see if the setting has any effect on the voltage to the DRLs.

You can go up to 11.4v whether the output actually changes I don't know. I think Jimmy07 tested it and said it doesn't but I don't remember off hand

Hum, on my 2016 I only show a range of 5.4V to 8.4V in 0.2 increments in Alfa. Mine doesn't go up to 11.4V?

I had the same thing happen to me when I installed push button start, but that was with a new rf hub, also. I would start and die. Resetting the hub took care of it.
It wouldn’t hurt to try it.
Jimmy07,
No luck. There is no P0513 code, in either the 2009 or 2009-2010 selections under the RFHub tried the WIN Reset, and it is still the same. Attempts to start the truck work, but the engine dies within a second or two. Other than that it does like the key, the instrument panel lights up, and the door lock/unlock on the fob work, but the WIN reset while it says it was successful doesn't allow the truck to remain running. Even after several attempts there at least is no P0513 code. We did try disconnecting the battery for 20mins to get the truck to do a general reboot. But no change.

So, the other fob just stopped being recognized? Or does it do the same thing as the new fob- start and die? What are all the fault codes in the WCM and BCM(TIPM)?

The one fob he had. Stopped working while he was driving home last night. The truck simply quit right on the road and close to home. The cluster came up and says Damaged Key and the key would not longer even turn the truck over.
His key was in fairly rough shape and I told him to get a new one off eBay and get his 4 digit code and I’d try to add it to his truck and he did all that but left it too late before letting me know and his existing key gave up.
I went over to his truck this morning. Programmed in the new key and started the truck. It ran and didn’t shut off. So I told him to get it home as fast as he could in case the system disabled the truck. It ran just fine on the new key until the truck was shut off. After that It started to die just after you got it to start.
I don’t know what codes are there right now. It was just too late and too cold to try anything further and since doing the WIN reset didn’t work the thought is we’ll have to get it to a dealer to get a key that will work. Basically I think we are out of things to try at this time.
The only code in the BCM was about the left low beam which apparently he’s had problems with. There were codes in the Rfhub/win but I don’t have a list of them at the moment. But no P0513 in either the BCM or Rfhub.

So got my reader and the app tonight. I tried to change the tire size following the link on page 1. Worked fine. But it was slightly off. So tried it again to adjust it a bit. Chaos happened.

I lost power steering
Autppark disabled
4wd disabled
Truck sounds bad almost back firing sound while slowing down.
Speedometer died (rpm) still worked
So limped home and put the tire size back to the size that worked. The 4wd code stopped, power steering came back, speedometer is working. But now I'm throwing 5 dtcs.

Pcm 0412, 0417, 0418
Itbm 0415
Dtcm 0415

The body control module, instrument, aren't showing errors. But I read the codes with my hypertech.

Wtf did I do?

It seems to be running ok again now. I guess I could clear the codes and see if they come back?

Jimmy07,
We have a P0513 code in the engine computer. They had an automotive locksmith out and he made them another key, but the truck would not start or even crank. We figured it might have been the battery as it was pretty weak when we tried things last night, so they got a new battery, but the truck will not crank.
Codes:
BCM - nothing
Engine: P0513 Invalid SKIM key
RfHub/WIN: B1A24 - Key not programmed, B1A6G Secret Key mismatch, B1A25 Invalid Key
So it looks like the immobilizer has kicked in. Does anyone know how to clear it? or are we stuck and have to trailer it to a dealer?

Unfortunately, you’re stuck. WIN module probably gave up. This is something the dealer will have to do, because the AlfaOBD just isn’t capable of programming a new one to the truck.
