I've had that issue before.

Sometimes I replaced them due to damage and sometimes I just wanted a bigger tank.

I had that issue at one pump recently but so far thats the only time. For whatever reason I couldnt leave the pump running on it sown, it kept shutting off and I had to sit there and hold it. It was a costco gas pump near me that I go to often. But so far it was only a one time thing. I hope it doesnt continue but I will be keeping track if it does as my truck is brand new, not even 2k miles on it yet.

Our 2014 Laramie was very finicky when filling up. Most of the time I could not use the auto feature. Our 2018 is continuing that tradition.

Mine is in the shop right now because of that. From what I found researching on my own was the breather Pad/valve was most likely the culprit, but was informed by the dealership yesterday, that they are replacing the fuel pump??? and the gas tank. I am going to try and get some more answers when I pick it up (hopefully today). I never had any issues with the pump, I'm just wondering if the mechanic is looking to charge more. I am under warranty though, so not out of pocket for me.

the only problem I find is after filling, the nozzle hangs up in the filler opening, have to fight it at times to get it removed.

I find if I turn the nozzle to the side I can set the lock on the middle position and it will fill usually and shut off. If I do not put the nozzle to the side or fill too fast it kicks off over and over and then when full fires a shot of fuel out the top and all over me. It is very sensitive to different pumps even at the same station. I just try and use the same ones I had good luck with

It is very hard to tell when filling if it is in fact full or just kicked off. If I try and pump in more and it is actually full it spits fuel all over. I hate getting back in only to see the gauge at 3/4.

Some pumps it is very hard to fill even slow, others it fills ok slowly but I have never been able to fill at a faster rate without it constantly clicking off.

The first month figuring out the temperamental filling of this truck was frustrating, now I just wear a jacket, hat, gloves and scarf as I'm going to be out there a while filling it up. Looking forward to the warm weather for sure. Takes quite a while to fill a 32 gallon tank a dribble at a time.

This is my one big gripe with this RAM. Yes it is under warranty but it almost looks like the cure is not a cure at all but more of a crap shoot and it is possible it could get worse. It is not a new issue, just one RAM has chosen to neglect across several years.

I've heard of vent hoses getting pinched or blocked somehow and causing filling issues. Not sure if this might be relevant.

Glad I came across this thread to see that others are having issues filling up. I mostly gas up at Costco and it seems to happen more so at certain Costco locations. Last time I fueled up, it stopped pumping about every 10 seconds. I'm going to mix in some other Costco locations and brands to try and see a pattern if its certain pumps or the truck. Not looking to spend the extended warranty deductible at this time.

Not sure if it was the vent hose or the valve itself. I just know they replaced the tank. I filled up the other day, and it was perfect!!

It literally took me about 1 gal per minute to fill up. It was unbearable!!

If it is under warranty get it taken care of. They will have to replace your gas tank though. Very much worth it.
