So obviously tire pressures drop with colder weather. In the summer I had ran my rears at 75 and the fronts at 65 with no warning lights. When the weather dropped the other day I had 3 of 4 tires lit up on the dash. Added air to all 4 and the front lights went out. The rears were reading ~73 to 74 and the lights were still on. Today I added more and the RR reads 79 on the dash and the LR reads 78 but the LR is giving a warning. Geeez. Sensitive. I had less than that in it all summer and it was fine. With 80 in them it's like riding on a rock.

You need to first pump the rear tires up to 80 or slightly over to clear the TPMS warning. The TPMS will not clear until it first sees the 80. Once it goes out you can then lower the pressure down below 80 to your previous 75.

Get AlphaOBD II and change the thresholds. Super easy. I dropped mine to 35/40 and I run 55/60 and it’s sooooo much better.

Went out for a short ride and the LR light went out. Not sure what the temp was that triggered it to turn off but on the way home the RR read 83 and the LR read 81 (they were at 78 and 80 when I left). I will try letting some out now.

Make sure you use dry air from a shop with an air drier or nitrogen which is dry and no better than good dry air
The TPMS is not changable on 2018 but I understand you can get a wire harness to bypass the security box to allow it

I'd like to change my thresholds but don't have AlphaOBD yet. As for the air, it's from my garage air compressor. I do have a filter/regulator on it but not a drier. Not going to take it to a shop every couple of weeks and pay to have special air put in it. Have never done that in 35 years of driving and never had any issues. Just annoying the tolerances are so tight on this TPMS

I use regular air from my compressor and never have any problems. Nitrogen is too much of a pain in the ass, and I’ve already bought my own compressor, so why pay money for someone else to put air in it.

There is a lot of descant filters out there
I use a Wix AC10 AquaChek unit on my Jeep to keep my air lockers dry so they donot freeze up when playing in the snow
The reason for dry air is it expands and contracts less with temperature than moist air

I will have to look at mine. It looks similar to that. I bought it about 25 years ago. My line is PVC about 40' long going into this regulator with a water 'trap' plumbed in with a ball valve on it to drain any condensation.

I bet that does ride like $hit! If I am not towing, I keep mine at around 45 front & 55 rear. I just have learn to live with the low tire indicator on.

yeah when i bought it they had 80 in all 4. i lowered the fronts to 65 but the rear rode horribly so i lowered them to 75 and it rode much better and i had no warning lights. now it seems i have to beat at least 80 to get the lights off...lol

How much does that run?

If you have an Android device already you just need a Bluetooth code reader and the application. About $150. It’s great to change your tire size, TPMS thresholds, low fuel light warnings, halogen to led bulbs, add remote start, list goes on and on.

Even when I am towing I only bump up to about 60 in the front & about 65-70 in the rears. When towing I am close to max axle weight & the tires don't bulge at all with that pressure.

I have been in a series of loaner trucks while mine has been in the shop. All have had the $2000 'safe secure package'. That includes locking lug nuts, tinted windows, eched windows and nitrogen filled tires. In the last 2 trucks the weather has gotten cold, both has had the tpms come on. Either they didn't put nitrogen in the tires or it doesn't help. I suspect both.

My power wagon has them come on under similar conditions. I will be getting the AlphaOBD.

Drove mine tonight and the lights were out. Sunday when I drove it the rears went to 81 and 83. Tonight they were at about 75 with no lights

I've just learned to ignore the little yellow "low tire pressure" icon on the dash. I just run 65psi in the front and 60psi in rear tires because this way it does't feel like I'm riding in a buck-board wagon.
