I see a lot of posts about vibrations and noises related to people’s 2019 Ram trucks. In my opinion every truck and every Ram truck is going to have vibrations and noises. It’s part of having a small tank sized truck with a thousand thousand moving parts. It doesn’t mean something is wrong or needs to be addressed, it’s just part of it. The only reason for posting this so hopefully people will relax, not get so stressed, and enjoy their trucks. I drive a lot of Fleet vehicles, big and small. They all have their peculiarities and all take some getting use to. Enjoy your trucks and don’t worry so much about a little vibration or a little noise here and there. It’s all good!

I've owned trucks for most of my life, the oldest being a 1971 model year, and not once have I accepted a vibration as normal. Noises, maybe, depending on what the noises are. Wind noise used to be a lot more prevalent then it is with the newer trucks. Tire noise is to be expected with aggressive tread, etc. A rattle in the dash? That's something that needs to be fixed. Unless you like maraca music, then enjoy.

My 2012 (4x4) with 162k runs down the road smooth as butter -- no vibrations or noises. A lot of times noises and vibrations are the result of out-of-round, or out of balance tires.

I quit buying Cooper tires b/c for years they kept going out of round. Maybe they're better now. I stand right there and watch the guys balance tires ....and if they need to stick big weights on them, I bark out we need to look for a different tire. They can 'theoretically' balance out an out-of-round tire, but it'll still bounce all over the place going down the road. Bad shocks can let tires bounce causing noise and vibration. Other mechanical problems (u-joints) are less common.

Not my RAM. I tracked weird noises down to lose side steps. 56k miles and she’s once again quiet as a Cadillac.

I think I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Particularity when it comes to harmonic vibrations. An idler pulley vibrating at low RPM is no big deal; but get it up to higher RPM's where the vibration frequency matches the engine and it turns into a magnitude 4 earthquake in the cab.

Generally if something doesn't look or sound right, it probably isn't. Just track it down and fix it.

I still have that whistle at highway speed & cant find it. I changed the antennae, moved the hood a bit & it still whistles. Bugs the crap out of me but my bride just turns the radio up.

My 16 1500 Outdoorsman definitely does not ride like a Cadillac either - it is quite obvious you are in a truck. Of course some of that could be my doing.

It definitely rode firmer than my brothers 16 Big Horn when stock though.

My only gripe as far as noises is the darn air noise that sounds like a window is cracked that I cannot find.

I should have mentioned, I did replace my shocks, springs, and sway bar earlier this year, so that helps somewhat with my ride.

Some trucks ride fine with out of round tires....

I disagree as well. I got in this Ram and it has been the second best riding truck - the cabin noise is top notch.

The only other truck that was smoother was a Colorado. (Yea Hate me - I said it. I DID buy the Ram after all!)

Every time i DO hear a rattle or noise it bugs the hell out of me. First noise was my 800 lumen CR132 flashlight, second noise was my little knife I keep in the center console, and the last noise was a different flash light with magnet base I keep in the glove box. I love my Ram!

Couple of things here. Having done warranty work on new cars for years and over 3 major manufacturers. Most people are on sensor over load when looking at a new car. For this reason there are things they might not notice till they become more acquainted with a vehicle. Some people have exceptional hearing . Once they tune into a sound. It is perceived as a problem. This seems to be human nature. We dont like what we dont understand. Intermediate sounds are the biggest pita to deal with. As a general rule. If a sound is a problem it will get much louder over time. Bottom line trucks make way more noise then cars. They always have and probably will. If you dont want to hear them ,,,,,
Turn up your radio.

There was a fix for this on early 4 th gen models. Foam in the door jam iirc. Also some have found it was caused by the base of the mirrors weren't seated properly.

Thanks, I'll have to look at it. I only remember it when I drive the truck and it is intermittent depending on wind. I don't drive the truck often - which is why I never think of it.
