Anyone done a newer frame swap under a D150? Like a hemi 1500 or something?

none that i know of. cab mounts are completely different. they make kits to put hemi's in old truck but not to put old bodies on new trucks. i saw a 2nd gen cab on a 1st gen frame once and what they had to do to make it work was ugly but it was just a pull truck so it was not really a big deal. why would you want to swap to a newer style frame?

Im not too concerned about modifying cab mounts.

My thoughts are, I plan on a hemi swap, and upgrading the steering and suspension, and we'll have to modify the frame anyways for the air ride setup.

It would be convenient if the first hemi gen 1500 was a similar frame. But, browsing around, it doesn't seem so.

still probably better off just modifying the stock frame. you can lower these things pretty good on just the stock frame especially since you will be going 4 link. i have lowered mine the redneck way in the past and definitely looks pretty cool but definitely probably hard on the suspension(3600lbs of patio stones) lol. could probably get it lower than this with 4 link suspension. with the way the bodies on these are you might even almost be able to get the body to touch the ground before the frame touches
