OEM batteries are garbage now. Made to last to your three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. You just got a really REALLY bad one[emoji6].

Just double check all your fuses while you’re at.

Last two new vehicles I've had, my wife's car and my last truck, both batteries crapped out right around two year after purchase.

My 2018 ram has already had to have the battery replaced. Under warranty, but not surprised. My wife's 200 on the other hand, lasted a little over 3 years and probably about 60k miles. I've always heard Chrysler batteries are bad for dieing early. Will see how long this one lasts in the ram, as it's a Mopar also I'm sure. No real complaint about either of mine this time though. Just my 2¢ this time...

I imagine it falls under warranty, but it’s our only vehicle and my wife needs it in the morning so it is what it is.

We just purchased our 2018 RAM, 27K and had to immediately replace the battery even after the dealer said it was fine. I put in an Oreilly’s group 94R AGM and no issues since. My 2011 300C had the original battery in it when I sold it in May 2018.

My 2010 Titan was sold in 2017 with the OEM battery and it was still a crankin'. We had a battery analyzer at work and it passed in the green on all tests. My 2014 RAM 2500 had to have a new battery in 2017 because it wouldn't sit more than a day or two without dying. That same analyzer showed it as toast...

Seems newer trucks are equipped with so much many more electronic components that draw power even when sitting in the driveway, that batteries are under much more load stress. Maybe that's why they don't seem to last as long? Or could be that all the good stuff that kept the batteries viable for longer have been outlawed by the eco-freaks so the alternatives aren't as good?

So far, so good on the factory battery in my 18 1500. Just under 25,000 miles and no issue-so far.

I would guess my warranty would cover a new one but I’ve about made up my mind that whenever this one goes, it’s gettin’ replaced with a much better Optima red top.

+1 on the 2012 battery. Im in a 1500 sport crew cab with 93k miles and its still at 100%. I keep thinking about changing it but everytime I bench test it, its fine.

The factory battery in my old 08 1500 I had was still going strong when I replaced it after being 5 years old. I don’t think there was anything wrong with it but only because of its age is why I decided to just replace it anyways. I didn’t know how much longer it woulda lasted but, I just figured, what the hell...lol. It’s five years old, I got my use out of it. Lol.

The original battery in my ‘99 lasted 10 years, replaced it with an Autozone that I got maybe 5 out of.

Had to replace my ‘14’s batteries after 3.5 yrs, one still tested good, the other was at 50 amps.
