Wow what a bunch of whiny stupid comments about buying the "Classic Ram" Truck. I've had an 09,10, 13,15 and now a new 19 5th gen. Ram Laramie with the Sport package and sport hood along with the 4x4 off road package which comes from the factory lifted higher than the regular 4x4 1500. The frame is way stronger than the "Classic " and my truck with the Hemi is rated to tow 11,610 with payload of 1900. It pulls my trailer better, handles better, rides better and is twice as quite inside traveling down the highway. It has factory electric running boards which is much more user friendly than the stock bolted in place running boards. The interior is way more superior than the "Classic " my 12" screen is the coolest thing I've ever seen and can be configured many ways with one half showing one thing and the other half showing something else. The rear seat has way more legroom and the backseat passengers can recline the seats. The floor is totally flat with no hump in the way. There is no resemblance in the least of a Toyota of any kind or an ugly Ford, the GM trucks aren't even anywhere close to even mention other than they are ugly as crap. There are many other things that can be mentioned about the 5th gen Ram being superior over the 4th gen. Rams but another main reason I purchased the 5th gen. Is because if I'm going to spend that much money I don't want to buy something that looks like trucks I've been driving for the last ten years. It was certainly time for a change.

I like the 5th gen. Buy my 2017 is paid off and I like paying 0 per month better than 500 for a nicer interior

DSC00560.JPG some of us love our 4th gens and baby them because we cant afford to buy a new one every 2 years. Mine is 2012 and I still get a super smooth ride and wicked acceleration when I need it!! I hope I dont need a new one until the 6th Gen!!

If you look at Ram's uptick in sales it started with the 4th gen. Styling, Hemi and incentives are why people keep buying them.

We traded our 2014 Laramie in on a Mustang GT vert earlier this year. Fun little car but we got tired of it and found a great price on our “new to us” 2018 Laramie. Nothing against the 5th gen just too much money.

I bought the ‘19 Classic because I want and need a single cab, and it was tough but I finally found one in the Classic.
Plus I just like the 4th gen better.

The 4th Gen Body is just more aggressive and distinctive in my eyes. Had the dealer bring out both the Classic and the 5th Gen blackouts side by side. new interiors are cool but wasn't enough to sell me. Maybe after a mid generation refresh. Had to replace my totaled 15 and the Classic had more than I needed. Quite a few upgrades between 15 and 19 in the same trim package.

I bought a 2019 warlock classic. It ticks all the boxes that i need. I like a different look and it sure has it. That front end is just right for the gen 4. The 5th gen look a little too hwy ride to me. Interior on the gen 4 says im in a truck not a suv. Didnt want the etorque or the 18 inch screen (i dont need more distractions inside the cab)or need the extra tow cap. I do like the 5th gen they are great trucks. If they didn't have the warlock i prob wold have got a 5th gen and be 15k poorer. Enjoy your trucks boys whatever you have.

2019 TunRAM 1500 or 2019 RAMdra 1500 ?, lol, hard to argue with the FCA engineers who designed the new 1500 truck.
But which one is which ? please tell, maybe i should make a poll.... hahahahaha

I bought the classic mainly price... don't get me wrong I have the money it's a matter that I'm a cheap mo fo... and also not a fan of having an alternator act as a motor to get me going seems like that tech will wear out and cost an arm and a leg to replace when it breaks. Give it a few years and if they prove to be reliable then maybe I'll pony up and get a new body style.

I had a 2013 Regular cab 1500 that I loved until the 13th of November when a woman ran a red light and totaled it. The insurance offer was a joke and I recovered the $2700 bed cover that they were offering $800 for. So, I needed a truck of some the same color with the same bed. I loved that truck. It had the full trailer towing package, 3.55 limited slip, etc. New Michelin AT tires, and more. It was the truck that I was going to drive for the rest of my life. I found a 17 Quad cab for a decent price, but it doesn't have the trailer package, or good tires or all of the little touches that I had added. But I still like it better than the new model and I agree that the new ones still look better than the competition.

Oh, yeah. There is about a $16k difference in the selling price of the Classic vs the new model.

First off, I like (and own) a 4th gen Ram. But what is the attraction to still buy a Ram Classic when the 5th gen has been out a while? Is it Price, Style, Familiarity, lack of specific features on the 5th gen ....other??

Just curious what factors motivated you to buy a Ram Classic instead of a 5th gen?
First off, the price! Why pay $52K+ (what mine cost new from factory on window sticker) when you can get a fully loaded, low mileage (48K) 2014 like I did for $25K

Second, I really HATE the RAM logo that dominate half of the front and rear. Everyone knows it is a ram and I like the original ram head logo too. That would be like taking a Corvette and putting a HUGE CORVETTE across the front and rear.... would ruin the Corvette.

actually I am still trying to figure out why anyone buys a new vehicle of whatever every few years. I will never understand it. After 11 years with my 2008 2500 I know it well, and will not replace it until it is stolen, rusts out or parts become unavailable. The latter could happen. I have eleven years and 307,000 km and due for new rear fender replacement and a few dings fixed and repainted. No other rust on it. Not my thing but if you like frequent replacements, go for it.

My was purely on price...The only reason I stepped in to the dealership at the time was due to the fact my brother called the night before and told me he just leased one and was given a $10k rebate and that I could probably walk out with a truck payment around $300. Sure enough, I thru in $1500 and my old 2005 F150 FX4 Screw with 156k on the clock. Sure enough, $330/mo for 3/36 lease with a buyout of just under $21k. I figured it was about the best I would do.........used car payment for a new truck, and then in 3 years take out an actual loan right around the price much older used truck but yet have its complete history. The HEMI was just a bonus..........And yes I was willing to give up some of the new creature comfort electronic features that some of the newer vehicles have but in actual hindsight I do not run into the headaches they can cause, i.e. phone still connected to car when out of the vehicle and need to make a call.

And just had my 1st major storm with it, its a beats in the snow. The stability control system has it good points and bad personally. However, I do like how it responses when turning under breaking in the snow.

See this is interesting, because I can immediately pick apart the differences.

Of course you can. You can also pick out a lot of similarities though, can't you? Same for the square bodies.

That's why the Kenworth-look Ram was so revolutionary in the mid-90s. It was completely different then the other offerings on the market. Stevie Wonder could tell them apart. People who did not give two sideways poos about pickup trucks knew that it was a Ram. Now I bet if you swapped emblems and lettering you'd fool anyone who wasn't an enthusiast, and many of them.
