Afternoon all. Help me raise my driver seat! I posted a short intro in the General thread. Briefly, I just bought a used 2005 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Full Bed 4WD Hemi 5.7. I have been away from truck ownership many years. I am just starting getting to know my truck and researching the best ways to outfit for my needs.

The driver seat in this particular truck does not have a seat-height adjuster. Phone books aren't as handy as they used to be when I was younger. I am seeking recommendations to site higher as I drive.

If I sit in the seat to support my back, my legs dangle already. I am hoping to find a separate solution for resting my feet or at least my left foot. Meantime, for safety, I would like to sit a bit higher. I once owned a 2003 Dodge Conversion Van in which the seat (as-is) was great to sit high and see over the vehicle front nicely.

Meanwhile I am considering creating a humor video about being fairly short and owning of these modern higher-up trucks. My previous truck was a Chevy S-10, in the late 90's / early 2000s. I like the little pick-em-up trucks but I needed the future ability to haul / tow.

Its a nice truck, looks nearly new. A little longer than the van I had. My experience driving the van comes in handy now. I am able to turn the truck around in my driveway. I still have much to re-familiarize myself in having a truck.

Thanks for any input.

Problem with that spacer kit is it's aluminum so not as strong as it could be and the disclaimer is a bit troubling. I would try something like a pillow to sit on first. There are a few manufacturers for pedal extensions to make reaching them easier. Perhaps an upholsterer could modify the factory cushion to sit higher without changing the seat mounting, but never having taken one apart I can't be sure.

For most comedic effect for your video though the above booster seat and a set of platform shoes to reach the pedalsdownload.jpeg.jpg would be pretty funny.

My motorhome's seat bottom cushion is longer than was comfortable for me. I added a seat back cushion and it helped immensely.
Something like this:
