Winter project is to add air bags to my truck 18cc 4x4 hemi express 1430lb payload. I have a TT that it tows perfectly fine with the WDH but looking into adding a golf cart to the mix. I know it doesn't legally add to payload but that's not my intention. Is airlift the best? Would the 5000 series be best suited for my purpose? And the truck currently has a 2" rear spacer but will be lifted 6" in the future

Do they offer onboard air?

I used the Air Lift WirelessOne compressor to air the Timber Grove ASAMs. Timber Grove does make their own onboard air systems, but they are pricey.

I went with Timber grove air bags as well. They have been great and are easy to install and made well.
Main reason I went to them over Airlift was Airlift required you to cut the bump stop mounts But I think they may have change that and if they did I would think they would be pretty equal and would say buy which that appeals to you the most.

AirLift is bolt on kit now also, no cutting of the bump stop mounts.
Aside from being a great product, I'm a bit partial to them as they're made right here in Michigan, just north of the OP. IF I'm not mistaken, the airbag part of TimberGroves is made over seas.

I have Firestone 5000# bags in my 2500 and airlift 1000# in my 1500, both with Airlift Wireless One controllers. You will most likely be fine with the 1000# considering it's a half ton, but definitely want the built in controller!

Airlift customer service was horrible when I tried to get help with my Air Lift 1000s (in-spring bags). One started leaking after only 1 year, barely even used them. Filled out a customer service/warranty form online, submitted it. They emailed me after a few days, asking for information I had already provided in the form. I gave it to them anyway.

After a few rounds of back and forth, them constantly asking for more information (rather than looking at my form or requesting it all again in one email), I threw in the towel. It felt like their goal was to make it a hindrance so that I would give up. Well, it worked... I gave up on their company.

I waited until the Timber Groves were on sale (rare, but it happens), and ordered a set. They went in easy, instructions were decent, and have had no issues so far. I think I've had them for two years (ish) now, but I might be a bit off.

Others are correct, their 5000 kits (most if not all) do not require cutting the bump-stops anymore. They bolt on similarly to the Timber Groves. However, I also have to wonder if they would have actually changed their design to be bolt on if the Timber Groves (and other companies) had not had competing designs that did the same thing.

Bummer to hear about your experience Jason!
I've always had bags and on-board air in past trucks and I'm looking to add them on the 2010 3500 LB I just got.
Has anyone tried the WirelessAir from Air Lift? I like the WirelessOne but I want the ability to adjust each side independently. Looks like the W-One is only a single path system?
Cheers

My buddy uses it on his 2500 for a set of TLC airbags, he says it works really well to be able to adjust the pressure on the fly while towing his fiver.
Unless you need to correct a side load condition from something like a slide in camper, there is not much benefit to running a dual circuits for helper airbags.

I had the air lift load lifter 5000 installed on my 2012 1500 and they worked flawlessly. It is completely A bolt in kit the only thing you have to do is pull the bump stops off and drill a small hole wherever you want the air valve to be placed. I suppose you could just zip tied the valves outside underneath if you didn’t want to drill any holes. I recently traded my truck for 2500 and pulled the load lifters back off and just popped the bump stops back on.
They’re 18 months old and in great shape if anybody’s interested.
$200.00 just send me a message otherwise I’m about ready to put them on eBay

I have the Firestone 5000# bags and AirLift WirelessOne on my 2016 2500 CTD. Had an issue week before last where it would pump up to 20#'s every time I started the truck. Checked for leaks, turned off phone (i have the app), pulled power to reset. No luck. i called Airlift told the issue and what I had done to troubleshoot.Guy said sounds like a bad manifold. They shipped one out UPS 2 Day and included a pre-paid return label. The whole call was 10 minutes and very easy. I updated the software in the manifold and installed the new one. No issues.
