Noticing that after the truck has been off, the def will still intermittently spray into the exhaust. Even hours later, I'll hear a random (spfffft) noise and I can't for the life of me figure out what the deal is.

Anyone got any ideas?

And seriously, if you say "see a dealer" you've obviously never been to one. That's not the answer I'm looking for

I have a 2014 ecodiesel too. According to the owners manual: "The DEF pump will run for a period of time after engine shutdown to purge the DEF system. This is normal operation".

Can't say that I've ever heard any noise coming from the DEF system after the engine is off. I hear a pump hum near the front of the engine and the HVAC dampers resetting themselves after the truck is off, but that's about it for noises.
I know some people with air ride trucks say their trucks will occasional make noise even after being parked for days.

Yeah, it's the strangest thing...but I haven't even considered it being the air ride o_O

That's a solid lead. The spffft noise (that I assumed was and sounded like DEF spray) could very well be the system doing an auto level correction of the suspension.

I’m running around today in the xB, when I get back tonight I’ll have to read up on that:werd07:

Just for some backstory here too...

Bought the truck to upgrade from my ‘94 F-250 7.3L Diesel first week of September. Dodge dealer did a PCM recall update 2 weeks later that didn’t take right and they broke the EGR valve. I just got it back this week. They also told me I needed a new radio ($2k) because the FOTA Update wasn’t working. I downloaded the file myself and fixed it. Took about 15 tries, kept getting stuck on Unit 11 at 1%, but it finally went through. They also charged me $300 for a new battery because they said mine kept dropping charge. Guess what, it wasn’t. With the radio headunit in update mode, it stayed on even after truck was off which was causing the drain. New battery for no reason, broken EGR valve(FCA paid for that), and a whole lot of idiocracy.

So I’ve owned the truck 3 months but all in all only had it less than 3 weeks.

Sorry to hear that man. Amazing how when something doesn't work, they just pull something out of their ass to have you throw money at it. Is this the same dealer you bought it from?

It’s been a headache, I’m just counting blessings I finally got it right....for now.... No, I bought it from a dealer in Raleigh (1.5hr from me). Took to the local Dodge dealership, White Motors, in Roanoke Rapids for the update.

Had similar issues with a 2011 VW golf TDI, dealer did an EDU update during an oil change, 6 hours later I am still waiting. The car never ran right after that.
2 trips and a tow to the dealer, I went to another VW dealer another month later I still didn't have a car. 3 new ECU's new control modules, new turbo, new EGR system, replaced all the ABS sensors twice, 2 new batteries, and a slew of other parts.
Car was a year and a half old but I had it for less than 4 months. Ended up lemoned.

Found out the problem! I just so happen to have my head down there hooking up a trailer and heard the spffft coming from the air ride passenger rear. Now that I know what I'm dealing with, I can do some internet scouring.
