I see what you're talking about now. Is there a different spacer I can use instead that doesn't have an open top?
Are you 4wd? And how much lift is that spacer advertised as?

Yes 4wd, the open spacers are 1.5"

So I am running a mammoth 1.5" lift spacer (1 1/16" thick) on my setup. The center supports the top of the coilover perfectly. And they are pretty cheap. Haven't had a single issue with mine compared to the one I pulled out in the thread I started about them.

The one I linked was just a quick Google search for the brand so I could show you.

So if I'm looking at this right, these have a smaller hole in the center so it can't push through? Right?

Correct. You want a small enough hole that the busing can't push through the top, just the stud and nut for the shock shaft. Otherwise the top bushing isn't supported and free floats inside the spacer.

I stand corrected I used these https://www.americantrucks.com/max-trac-15-front-strut-spacers-1318-4wd-ram-1500.html

Most people just use Bilsteins (or other lift struts) to side step this problem entirely.

What you could do is find a donut shaped suspension bushing and cut it down to fit in there, just to serve as an isolator so the top of the upper strut mount can resolve its forces against that and never become a problem (and never make noise, either.. also a good thing) - for example these bushings from a Mitsubishi truck are a little bit too big to just push straight in, but that means if you cut them down (bandsaw, oscillating saw..) they would push right in and fill it.

Or you could find some washers the right size and fill 'em in there... or use Windo-Weld... or even build it out with Steel Stik epoxy. None of those are "show quality" fixes but the only thing they need to do is give the inner bushing on your struts a way to transmit their force up to the truck's frame. You could smash cheeseburgers in there and if they're tight enough it would work, you know?

You got the yellow Bilsteins right? The front ones have an optional 0.7" lift built into them.. if that's enough for what you're doing. It's the default ride height for the Outdoorsman trucks.. or I'd return those spacers you got and get the small hole spacers. Or return the front struts and the spacers and get 5100's.

Yes I have the 5100's was gonna set them at 2" so I don't extend them all the way and use the spacer for the rest. But I can but a small hole spacer no problem.

Need a little help here. Got everything installed, tires rubbing knuckles of aarm. Tried a 1/4 spacer and it still won't clear. Stacked 2 1/4 inch spacers to get to 1/2 and tire is still hitting the tubular aarm. Anyone run into this problem.

I'm wondering if it's the factory srts offset giving me problems. How can I fix this

Yeah you need a significant spacer for the front wheels, like 1" or 1.5" - if you check Motorsport-tech.com and get spacers which are hub centric on the wheel and on your hub they are the best available and won't fail you.

I have stock 17x8" wheels with aftermarket upper control arms and Bilstein lift but my tires are 285/70r17 and they clear the upper arms by fractions of an inch. Anything bigger would absolutely need a big spacer. .

Also in your photo of the Bilstein strut you installed the lower seat upside down. That does not affect the tire rub but you NEED to correct that or you will be very unhappy in very short order
