How do you voice text with the android phone...or is it because of you have a uconnect account..
If the radio comes in your truck you need to have the Uconnect subscription for it to work but for some reason in almost all cases when you install an RA3/RA4 out of another truck into your truck and enter the security code when the radio reboots and says it's removing the Uconnect subscription the voice texting still works. I have had three different RA4 radios throughout the years and they have all worked. I have had this radio for over three years and it still works fine with no subscription. I use it all the time. It operates through the cellular connection on your radio which used to be Sprint but they got bought out by Verizon. You don't need to activate anything special on your phone or be connected to the radio.

The RA4 voice recognition seems to work much better than the UAx radios for me. The RA4 is very good at taking dictation.

I wonder if it's because I'm using the old microphones in the mirror instead of the newer ones in the headliner?

I have my UAQ installed in my truck. Let it sit overnight. Mostly everything is up and running the only issue I’m having now is with the GPS. It’s not showing me in the correct location. I believe it’s showing me the area where the junkyard was that my radio came from. Also the direction of travel on the compass shows the wrong direction. Shows North when I’m actually heading south. The clock also won’t sync by gps. Has anyone had issues like these or does anyone have any suggestions?

I ended up having to replace the mustard plug (SXM and GPS antenna) on the truck side to get a good GPS signal. If you are not getting an SXM preview channel with audio you are likely also not getting a GPS signal.

As far as Compass direction goes. There is a setting in AlfaOBD that can "reverse" the compass heading. The Compass orientation options are "right side up" or "upside-down", changing this to the opposite of your current setting should change the compass heading to the proper one.

Yes, mine will occasionally lock up and do this. Battery pull doesn't always fix it. The only solution I've found is to do a reset on the radio, clearing all personal information. After resetting, the radio GPS thinks it's at infotainment.com's location (where mine came from), but quickly finds current location and works properly.

Is there a reset button in the radio settings?

I had Nav in the radio I took out of this truck and it worked with out any issues at all is the only thing that makes me think it’s something with the new radio. I am getting the SXM preview channel though.

I should also note that the old RA4 will not navigate properly without the compass working (I think). If the compass orientation setting is not correct, the truck moves very little on screen and stays near the starting location the whole drive.

Changing that setting with Alfa fixed this problem for me and navigation progressed properly. I just tested this in the past week trying to get my Compass heading to display with a UAS installed.

On that note, does anyone with a UAS still have their compass heading displayed in their 7" EVIC?

Just making sure I’m not missing something. Should this one have something plugged into it?

You can test if the Alfa setting will fix your problem (if you don't currently own the app) by physically flipping the compass module over and driving around.

What do you mean by compass module? Where is that at?

It is in your overheard console mounted closer to the windshield. If you have homelink (garage door buttons) it's the same module.

I disconnected the battery and that didn’t seem to do anything. I then reset the radio through the settings screen. I drove around for a bit and it seems like the compass direction is working correctly now and it actually shows my truck moving on the map where before it was just staying in one place. But it is still not showing my location correctly. It still shows me in a different state. Im hoping maybe after a while it will fix itself. Another weird thing is the clock is about 30 mins slow and I have it set to sync with gps. But you would think that it would be an hour slow due to it showing in a different location. I’m waiting on an android device right now. Not sure if anything in Alfa obd would fix any of this or not. But am open to any other suggestions. I will update if it decides to fix itself.

@Joe Gomez check the software revision of the radio, it's possible that it doesn't have the latest GPS update. That could explain why the Nav doesn't know where it is. The latest update that FCA pushed out for UConnect was to correct the GPS time/date calculation.

This is what I have right now.

I experienced the exact thing when my GPS antenna connection was bad. You can test it by buying a cheap GPS antenna like this...

Xtenzi Navigation GPS Antenna Compatible with Select VW Audi Navigation Receiver - XT91836 https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B006AKVX2S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xu5fEbZBW9VED

You'll need to shave off one of the mustard plug keys like this to make it fit...

cee57c9fc00e917ac93978b7b2a254f7.jpg

Or you could get a neutral key Fakra splitter like this one and plug in both your new GPS antenna and your old SXM/GPS antenna simultaneously (since SXM still works) and it "should" fix you.

FAKRA Z Adapter Fakra Z Female to... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H89BGLC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

All that being said. If you think it's just a calibration issue I'm told there is a calibration trick.

Go to an empty parking lot.

Turn off the vehicle.

Open and close the door and let the dash lights go completely out.

Once the lights are all off open the driver's door and start the truck.

Drive the truck in several tight LEFT turns (in a circle essentially) with the driver's door open and your seat belt buckled the whole time.

Close the door, turn off the truck and let the dash lights go out.

End...

Does anyone have any idea what to do with this or did I just brick it by trying to update it? I got the file from the dealer to 22.6. It sat on this screen for about 10 mins. Then tried to reboot the. Stayed stuck on this screen.
