I like to change my own oil and use ramps to pull the truck on to do it.My old Ram had a column shift and I would turn the switch on and let it roll off the ramps to put in the new oil. With my new one, it has the dial shifter and will not come out of park with out the engine running. Anyone know how to shift it out of park. I am having to climb up on the ramps to put in the new oil. Thanks

There's a plastic panel above the E brake release. Pop the cover off and there's a lever under there that will unlock the dial shifter:

Meh - I figure I'll just climb on the grille guard when it comes time to dork with it on my own.

If you can drop hints on an appropriate loved one and find a topside creeper in your Easter basket, life changing! :)

I have to agree that something like that would be useful. But - I am at the point that anything that big in my garage means the truck sleeps outside.

Which brings me right back to the step ladder... :rotflmao:

Go buy one of these truck service steps at Northern Tool or online.
Very useful as I found a step ladder to be in the way on the sides.
This service step adjusts and goes over the tire to hold it on.
Also buy a fender cover to keep from scratching your paint.
It folds up nicely for storage and doesn't take up a lot of space and can be easily packed and taken along if needed

I recently had to have my 2015 1500 towed (burnt internal ground inside starter - covered by extended warranty). Had to look on YT to see how to release the tranny to get it into neutral to get it on the flatbed.

Go with the stepladder.
