Geeking out over new 2500 I was sitting in truck looking at the manual and cool features when I thought, “hey where are the jack and tools located?”.

I found the passenger seat cover and removed it to find 4 broken tabs and no jack or tools and 4 strips of yellow factory tape wrap sitting under the seat.

Im not suggesting a factory trend or anything. But everyone may want to check. I’m curious if anyone is missing anything. It has the tail gate wire secure piece, and a hitch sleeve. I hope I’m not missing anything else.

Likely taken by someone at the dealer or transport, distribution yard or something. The truck was freshly unloaded and I bought it with 8.2 miles on it. I drove it home 3 hours and it’s sat secured.

Dealer is tiny with 2 salesman, a secretary and 7 mechanics.

Salesman felt awful ordered a set and will send it.

Disappointing and odd.

Maybe the tabs broke during shipping and the helpful dealer prep folks removed the tools so they wouldn't rattle during the test drive.

Yes if you have the one without the gas cap it sends a funnel with it so you can put gas in it with a gas can if need be. 28d44b08affda283bcb80cda08566eeb.jpg

I didn't get a funnel :mad3:
Where was it located in the truck when you took delivery?

This is something that is usually added by the "detail and prep" guy and can be overlooked. They also add fluids so I check for the jack and also check fluid levels (coolant, ATF, etc.) before taking possession of a vehicle.

It's was attached to the bag that the jack handle and rods are in. Under the passengers seat.

smity: YUP, someone removed them tools. Since U bought a 2019, may have been on the lot a while and my opinion is someone else needed tools and the cannibalized yer ride, just IMHO...

Assuming U have the same as a 5.7 setup:
After U run yer truck a couple hundred miles, check Overflow coolant bottle WHEN cold. FCA got a bad habit of quite literally only having the bare minimum in there. I had to add some to my truck, so I went to dealer and bought full concentrate and split with demineralized water and have now less usage 2 gallons of 50/50. Just saying...

Mine was missing as well and didn't notice until a few days after I bought the truck. I ended up just buying a 3 ton jack w/ stand built-in and keep it behind rear seats. Much better than factory anyway. :D

(What I saw)

If you think that's bad, I ordered my truck online from a big dealer in Greenville, SC and had it shipped to my home in MD. It was missing the spare tire, both hooks on the front were chipped and rusted where the paint was missing, no fuel in it and the cargo box lid cover on the drivers side of the bed was coming off Had to fight tooth and nail with them to get the tire and new hooks. I took it to a local dealer to get the lid cover fixed. They "fixed" it several times and it still came loose. They even ordered a new lid and cover. It still came halfway off. It's held on by several double sided adhesive tape. I took t to their body shop and they glued it back on. It still came loose. I asked them what do they use when they replace body panels. The Manager said they use an industrial strength glue. I told him to glue it all over the underneath side of the panel. So far it's held up. I live down by the shore and with it being black, it absorbs the intense heat we get in the summer time. The lid cover is plastic and has to be painted to match the truck.
When you pay close to 70K for a 2500 diesel Laramie Limited, there's no reason for it to be shipped with these defects.
It's a 2500 Laramie Limited.Cargo Box Cover.jpg Cargo Box Cover.jpg 56329625852__B40CF324-B000-4FB8-9FF7-50138CD5AA81.JPG 56329626809__73FF4B84-B85C-4CD8-99F4-F65068B85203.JPG

Thanks for the tip!!!

It was on the lot 2 weeks which is obviously enough time to pirate. It’s a recent Night package that arrived via carrier 12/16/19 with 11/2/19 build date.
