Just can't get my head around this.
1. I do not doubt that it happened. Some dealers or service dept's are criminals. They will put it all at risk because they believe they can get away with it.
2. Not buying that a authorized person at the dealership made the "keep quite offer" Some owners are absentee. Possible that some employee sent a stupid panic email.
3.What I find odd is the members frantic effort to contact FCA. Real simple. Google FCA HQ or "who runs FCA" "Where are they located" You will get Reid's (CEO) email address, phone number and address in Warren Michigan.
4. They will blow the member and his evidence off. Tell him to get an attorney. That should have been done on day 1.

If you can find me Reid’s email address and phone number I’ll give you $45k if my own money.

I don’t think you guys understand the goal of my post...

Many of you seem to think I’m looking to sue FCA, but that’s not the case. I know the dealerships are separately owned and operated entities.

But if the dealerships are fraudulently getting FCA to pay for warranty repairs then I think that is something FCA would want to be made aware of.

The only person that could audit the dealerships books to determine how much money they “stole” from
FCA....is FCA themselves — that’s why I want them to get involved.

And I want to work WITH FCA to ensure that this dealership faces the most severe consequences — being forced to pay back FCA all of the money they received from fraudulent claims, etc; Being stripped of their franchise rights (no longer allowed to sell FCA vehicles, etc)

And maybe FCA could consider putting more safeguards in place that protect both FCA and the end consumer — and doesn’t make it so easy for dealerships to commit this type of fraud with little fear of any consequence.

Sure, 45 or 50k would be nice for ME — but that does nothing to help the single mom that brings her minivan in with a broken sensor, but gets handed a $5k bill for a new engine, or the elderly gentleman who purchases a brand new truck, then 3 months later is squeezed for another $2k because his repairs are “not covered under warranty”.

Do you guys feel me?

Btw, not sure why yall are talking about reid being the ceo.. hes head of u.s sales. Go go the boss hoss

I'll stand corrected. This company is structured fairly odd. Manley is ceo of FCA. Reid is ceo of FCA Canada, head of us sales, and president. If that makes sense to anyone...

My advice is send an email to them if your so inclined. I dont see any phone numbers for the ceo. Best bet is send an email

We get your intention. I wouldn't even know where to start on this. Your AG, FCA corporate. I would put money on your AG. Why, possible criminal investigation. Who knows who might of been scammed this way. Even though we cant read all the emails. I for one dont understand how you caught them getting money FROM chrysler and you at the same time via email. If you want to enlarge the convos I could probably draw a conclusion.

^^^^^Hmmmmm,,,,you do make a fair point. Most people will not go out of their way to take on an issue or subject like this, for the benefit of others. Most of us simply say, there is another dealership we need to stay away from, put it in gear and move on.
Let me look up what I have from my go around with them and I will send it to you. Good luck, but I do not think they will look into this like you believe they will or should.

What part sounds like BS? I’m not really seeking anything for myself, just trying to get FCA to realize the holes in their business model that allow dealers to basically do whatever they want, without having to fear any repercussions or intervention from FCA.

I’m just trying to protect other people going forward.

The part about there not actually being gasoline in my Diesel engine was already 100% proven — I’ve got a full admission of guilt in writing from them — someone from the dealership wouldn’t be offering me $45k if they weren’t guilty of something.

I’m not trying to BS anyone — you should take a look at my motivations here: I’m not financially motivated, my motivation is to: 1) Punish this dealership by putting them out of business 2) Ensure that it isn’t so easy for people to get scammed like this going forward.

Well, we cant really see the whole part where you have any facts. Its blurred beyond being able to read. We've given you possible paths to take. Re-upload the parts that we cant see and we can guide you further. You keep saying FCA needs to get refunded back their money yet you never mention the people that may have been fleeced by this scam. If this is a corporate chain of dealerships, which most likely is, I'd go up that chain first and foremost. It could very well be this specific location .... or it could be all of them. Wont really know. Want to stir the **** pot? Contact your AG and let them know. Itll get to their corporate and Chrysler corporate real ******* fast.

Chrysler wont really care, its within their margin. They would of paid out anyhow because it was a warranty claim. They cant force a licensee to "hand over" the books to investigate. This is the job an your states AG. They have resources that can investigate in fraud.

Dealerships are privately owned entities separate from FCA. I'm not sure what their attorneys have to do with anything since they haven't really done anything wrong?

Honestly if this happened to me I'd go to the local media wherever this dealership is and not even worry about contacting FCA. Make em pay! Run those shady crooks out of town so they don't scam anyone else.

I understand dealerships are independently owned however the OP is alleging the dealer is scamming both the customer and FCA. Certainly FCA would want to know as this would violate their contract, as well as the law.

Another poster mentioned getting the state AG involved. Thinking more I believe that would be the best first step. I for one would like to see readable copies of the email traffic.

Sounds like BS to me....I suggest you take the $45K immediately....if you are not interested in benefitting from the money personally....give it to a charity of your choice....you will be a hero. Find a new dealer to repair your truck....you can't save the world.

If FCA was concerned about shoddy dealers representing them they likely would have parted ways with my local one. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it turns out.

@RamCares

If I do not hear back from someone at FCA, I will be forced to take every piece of evidence I have, and take it to the media -- and I will most certainly highlight the part where I alerted FCA to the matter, but they did nothing and allowed it to happen.

Hi DieselGate,

I am very troubled to hear your sentiments expressed here. Would you mind following up with us via private message at your earliest convenience to provide further details regarding your situation? We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn more to determine how to best assist you at this point.

Thank you in advance.

It appears they attempted to defraud you out of $11,000. This is crime, theft by deception and and a felony given the amount. You should contact your local law enforcement agency to file a complaint. There will be no sweeping it under the rug if they find a crime has been committed.

First off, this post is NOT spam, and I am NOT some conspiracy nut.....nor am I just some angry customer who's simply upset with the price he paid for repairs.

I have been trying to get someone from FCA to contact me -- if any company reps are on this forum, or if any of you have any contact info, please PM me.

I am not looking for some sort of big payout, I just want to inform FCA of this scam, and work WITH THEM to ensure that there are better procedures in place to prevent this happening to anyone else.

Basically...

A dealership tried telling me they found gasoline in my diesel engine, and that my factory warranty was now void, and the repair bill was $11,000 -- there was no gasoline in my engine.

Long story short, I caught them lying about the whole thing, confronted them, and I have a full admission of guilt from the dealership in the form of an email from them in which they offered me $45,000 in exchange for my silence. I also have much more tangible evidence every step of the way.

Basically what the dealership was doing was running a scam where they would bill customers for repairs, and also bill FCA for repairs as "warranty claims" -- and the pocket the customer' cash.

Again, I'm not some guy who doesn't know what he's talking about -- I have solid, tangible evidence every step of the way -- and nothing proves their guilt more than a black and white email in which they are literally offering me a substantial cash payout in exchange for my silence, once they realized I caught onto their racket.

I am trying to get in contact with FCA so that I can work with them to ensure that something like this never happens to anyone ever again. I am more than willing to share the evidence with them.
You'd be better off taking the 45k.
