Hey guys got a new truck and I'm afraid to put my dog in it lmao, what do you guys do to protect your vehicle or such ?

Back seats underneath have subwoofer, and I have car seats.

Any suggestions

I have two huskies who would easily and happily jump out of the bed of the truck if given the opportunity so I went on amazon and bought a back seat pet cover. They have many different brands and prices to choose from. Make sure to measure the back seat so you know what size cover to get. I bought one that was a few inches to short at first so I had to return it and get a different one with the right measurements. I use it with the seats up and fold flat floor down. has kept the seats clean for sure but I still get dog hair everywhere. Oh well that's life with Huskies.

sadle blanket, it is hard to get dogs in and out of bed long term, hurts their knees.

This was my previous set up before the shell. But with a kid on the way I need the back seat. My lab is getting old so I lift him in and out of the bed, and my yorkie is too small to jump that far so he is also lifted. Granted sometimes he just rides in the cab since hes small and doesn't shed like the lab.

This looks like the exact set up we have for our dogs. I keep it folded up under the back seat when not in use and it only takes about 2 minutes to put it on.

I am looking at using the "fold flat" floor system as template to make one for my cab that the dog can ride on. My guys is a Black lab/Pyrenees mix and will be 10 in May so I also need to configure a ramp for him as he is just getting to old to be jumping in and out.

When the weather gets better this spring it will be something I make and I will put pics up, especially on how I setup the ramp system so that it can be attached, removed and folded once he is in the truck.

About 4 years ago, a stray dog showed up at my home, no collar and hungry. He was around 6 months old or so. No one had ever showed him any affection because he fainted whenever you petted him.

He and I are family now. If I'm eating steak, he's eating steak. I like him better than any person. He rides in the truck with me. I do have Carhartt (SeatSaver) seat covers and Weathertech floormats but not because of him.

This is Jake.

You can buy ramps that slide in and out of its self. https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Solv...dog+ramp&qid=1580303808&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-9

I’v only had small dogs (miniature schnauzers) so they ride in the cab with the with the back seat flipped up and the foldout flat floor. If I had big dogs I would go the camper shell route, with ramp, and open the sliding back window (if equipped) to help with those hot / freezing days.

A cheaper option would be to buy a foldout flat floor, but you’d eventually have to assist a big dog getting in without a ramp. You’d probably want to buy the saddle blanket too. Dogs have a tendency to prop themselves up on the center council (if equipped) to see what’s going on. Which ends up getting scratched to hell lol.

2 30x30 .75" ply panels, 2x4 laying flat on the hump, and a 2x4 leg on each outer edge. Split panels so if needed I can fold the seat down and have a flat floor where the foot well would be. I use 2 pieces of paneling to cover the holes

We have the saddle blanket and some other blankets in the back for our two dogs.....one still rides in a kennel....makes him feel safer. Like others...we love our dogs....my wife says...."If you don't like dog hair....don't come in our house or ride in our truck." Both of our dogs are rescues....they're happy critters!

I bought plastic sheeting at Walmart , the sell it in rolls where the fabric is , different thickness available , just get it big enough to cover the whole floor an cut it so you can tuck it under the door sills to hold it in place then put a blanket or bed or whatever you want on top of the plastic , the choclate lab we rescued " Warlock " loves to swim so we needed a waterproof option.
